4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Most of my professors have been great, though there are two who I feel weren't particularly accommodating or understanding of their students.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I don't really know much. I know of three people who graduated and almost immediately got hired in fields they were interested in, but they could be anomalies.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: I've never personally lived on campus, but many of my friends have or still do and these answers are based on what they've told me of their experiences.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: There are things I love and things I really dislike about my school. Most of the professors are great, but some are either too serious or too laid back. It's also getting more difficult to find programs that fit my interests, and I know many of my friends feel the same.

Greek Life: Our Greek life is terrible because it doesn't exist.

3 College Student

Party Scene: I don't really know. But I hear people say that there's places to go but just not proper timing.

4 College Student

Party Scene: I've been to a few parties. The word that comes to mind is responsibility. People clean up after themselves, have designated drivers or places to sleep, etc. No one destroys property, shouts profanity, disturbs the neighbors intentionally, etc.

5 College Student

Academics: The diversity is wonderful - I read the academic catalogs religiously. I am always excited about future classes.

Diversity: As a minority, it's always a red flag when a school presents itself as liberal because that attracts two kinds of people - die hard liberals and "kill all liberals" kind of people. What ends up happening is all these white people fight about racial issues and never let minorities speak. All these straight and cis people are fighting about gender and sexuality while the minorities aren't given a turn to speak. Etc. etc.

Drug Safety: It's very easy to access drugs and alcohol here. However, I feel like the culture does not pressure you nor do they condone hard drugs. Still, many people here shouldn't be taking drugs due to medical and mental ailments.

Health & Safety: In terms of direct physical safety, no one actively threatens that. However, as a very liberal school, many minorities flock to this school. But also being an alternatively functioning school, many students who aren't necessarily active students due to their misbehavior or inability to be nice use micro-aggressions or blatant discrimination to harass many minorities and they then can feel unsafe - including me.

Overall Experience: I'm only a Freshman and taken two classes. But the teachers I've met were wonderful, reasonably accommodating, and taught their material with a passion that really encouraged a thriving learning environment not just within myself but others. However, I've met many teachers who also seem they're not especially enthusiastic about being at Evergreen.

4 College Student

Overall Experience: There are many jobs available on campus. However, the diversity in job opportunity is bland and off putting.

3 College Student

Campus Housing: The living spaces are adequate but nothing special stands out.

3 College Student

Athletics: The facilities are well funded and available for recreational and professional use. The environment is set up in a way that either person would feel welcome stepping into the area.

4 College Student

Overall Experience: The Evergreen State College is a public university that does not function like a traditional university. This difference in teaching method helps brilliant students who don't fit well into mainstream society's standardized testing get the education they need the way they can understand it. The college also offers many opportunities for students to explore their passions and pursuits.

2 College Junior

Party Scene: The party scene is pretty lame. The campus puts on events around holidays but not much else.

4 College Junior

Academics: The range of options for programs in different areas of study are fairly diverse. Registration is fairly stressful and not unlike trying to get concert tickets first. The workload is pretty intense but if you keep up on it its manageable.

4 College Junior

Diversity: Evergreen is an accepting environment for all diversity of religion, sexual orientation or ethnicity and race.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: Drugs aren't really available or an issue.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Truly an interesting and absorbing school. You get to experience collaborative learning and such a manner that ties multiple subjects together in an objective and truly interesting way to understand the complex issues affecting the world today.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Multiple internships and work study opportunities exist to support students in following their passions.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Great place to choose what you want to learn.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I have not personally looked into the resources provided by Evergreen for sexual assault. However, I have noticed that there is a lack of "emergency poles" on campus. The administration seems to care greatly about sexual assault, having implemented talks on the "green dot" approach, but is concerning they have not tackled the issue of "emergency poles."

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I can imagine that Evergreen would accommodate a certain type of student very well. However, it is lacking in areas of scientific research (other than environmental) and mental diversity.
