Weather: I've been here for 2 months already and we've only had 3 rainy days. It seems that every single day here is sunny and 80 degrees, and its the middle of October!

Guys & Girls: Attractive People Here – I personally disagree with the other reviews, there are TONS of attractive people here, and the people who say that there are ugly people here are probably not getting any. People here work out a great deal, and the gym is always packed. Their is huge amount of attractive people both in greek life, and around campus. People dress very well, mainly leaning towards preppy. Very few hipsters/goths here.

Health & Safety: Really Safe – There has never been any worry about safety at Emory. There are a ton of emergency posts throughout campus, and student health is easy to access. There is a police presence, but generally they will not get involved unless there is copious illegal drug use.

Local Area: Atlanta Is Great! Atlanta has a ton to offer, from Lenox mall, to little five points, to the downtown area. Make sure to check out the Vortex and Fox Brothers barbecue

Drug Safety: Easy to Acquire but No Pressure to Do Anything – It can be quite easy to acquire drugs and alcohol on campus, but no one is going to judge you if you do not partake in them. The only people who will judge you are the wasted idiots with nothing better to do with their lives. The great majority of people here will not judge either way. Note, Drinking is very popular here, and is a major influence at parties

Campus Quality: Every Single building here is great, the WoodPec 9gym) is amazing, with indoor tennis squash and basketball courts for everyone's use. The Duc is a nice building too, as is the library. Every Single classroom is here is really nice.

Party Scene: Even as a freshman, as long as you are 18+, you can go to awesome nightclubs in ATL. Primal, Opera, and The Mansion Elan are some of the most popular. There are also many fun evnets at clubs like halloween parties or dayglow.

Athletics: Good Teams, Little Spirit – We have really good athletic teams, but few people seem to watch them. People do go to soccer games, and basketball is fairly well attended. The school is trying to motivate kids to go to the games more, and it is working.

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Nice Housing – I am in Few and Evans hall and it is amazing. It is like living in a three star hotel! Longstreet Means (LSM) is also incredible as is New Turman. Fevans had a great theme around being eco friendly, and everything, from the common rooms, to the kitchens, to the study lounges, and especially the bathrooms are all really nice. The frat houses are nice options for upperclassmen, as is Clairmont Campus and the Woodruff Residential Center

Transportation: Oxford Shuttles – Oxford has shuttles pretty much all week long to take you to Atlanta campus. On weekends they run a shuttle to and from Atlanta until 1am; however, if you miss that shuttle or you can't fit on it then they will leave you there. Once a week they have a shuttle to the Walmart. A few times a week they run to the mall in Conyers. When they are running shuttles to and from a certain place they often run every 30 minutes to one hour.

Off-Campus Dining: The Town of Covington (Surrounding Oxford College) – There are two actual restaurants here: LongHorn Steakhouse and Apple-bee's. To get a really good meal you have to drive about 25 minutes up the highway to a town called Conyers. We've even been known to drive as far as 40 minutes to Decatur for a good meal. There are plenty of fast food places around but none are walking distance so having a car is essential.

Campus Quality: The facilities on Oxford's campus are a little bit dated since the campus is much older than Atlanta's campus. The dining hall is updated but that doesn't mean the food is any good; it closes at 8pm but often runs out of food well before then. The Library was just remodeled last year so it is really nice but the book selection is a little limited. Campus life is pretty much non-existent; most students go to Atlanta campus. Oxford is in a very small town called Covington, the closest restaurants are Long Horn Steakhouse and Applebee's and the closest movie theater is twenty minutes away. Oxford runs shuttles to Walmart and the mall a couple times a week and to Atlanta on weekends until 1am though so transportation to those places isn't impossible without a car. The gym is nice; what I've seen of it though I'm not much of an athletic person. Activities on campus are limited as well do to, quite frankly, a lack of motivation and school spirit by the students. The most fun event Oxford has is during orientation and its called Oxford Olympics. Oxford Olympics is essentially a field day; you run around campus playing different games and doing obstacle courses. Once a month they throw a school sanctioned party called a Tavern Party; they're put on by the different social clubs on campus and are supervised by other students and by student activity committee advisers. All-in-all there isn't much going on at Oxford.

Academics: Awesome Sciences – professors are very approachable, excellent lecturers, and if you put an honest effort in you will receive the grades that you want.

Greek Life: always something going on, nice brothers, fun themes

Party Scene: Always a Party – At Emory every Thursday through Saturday night there are at least two big name parties going on. Usually there's something big at an on-campus frat house(every frat house has something going on every weekend night though), something better going on at an off-campus frat party, and occasionally a club/rave/concert/bar event that everyone heads to. I haven't heard many issues from kids under 21 here finding a way to have fun, most people who want fakes have them, and liquor is easily accessible. In fact, many upperclassmen here consider freshman year at Emory the best year for partying. If concern about Emory not being fun is keeping you from considering coming, trust me that just as much fun is had here compared to any other big party schools.

Diversity: The school has a very large percentage of people from New England (many of which are jewish) and people from Asia (mostly South Korean). For some this might seem diverse but there is little other cultural exposure outside of that.

Administration: Never get tagged in Facebook photos – This past week, the emory disciplinary council did something that i cannot believe. 4 people were put on probation for drawing on dorm decorations, while another received probation for NOT leaving the scene, all because one sa was upset that they stole her precious harry potter drawing. The bottom line, is if you come to emory prepare to put up with a lot of bull s*** about stupid stuff. I will be honest when i say that i wish i never came here. Unless you totally follow every rule in the code of ethics, don't come here. Emory might be a great academic school, but it is not worth putting up with all the bureaucratic bs that fill this school.

Majors: At emory it is virtually impossible to get a bad education. all of the majors are good. If you are going pre-med then your life is going to be miserable during the middle and end of the semester. Same goes to people who are doing a lot of science classes. But overall emory is a stellar academic school, without much of the cutthroat nature of other top 20 schools.

Party Scene: My one thing is that get off campus as much as possible, since the university heavily regulates greek life and is not tolerant to drugs or alcohol. However, atlanta is a great city if u can get out, so my one piece of advice is to get an id asap.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: When coming to emory, one should know that it is 30 percent asian and is 30 percent jewish, which is both a good thing and a bad thing.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of Cheap Options, Lots of Unique Food. There are a lot of cheap fast food options near campus if you're looking for some late night grub, yet Atlanta also has a lot of really great one-of-a-kind establishments like Vortex, Bones, Fox Brothers BBQ... the list goes on.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Very Safe. Emory's in a very safe area of Atlanta. White collar crime (i.e. theft) is probably the biggest issue, especially during finals. But if you're smart about your personal belongings, theft isn't an issue. Physical safety is almost a non-issue on Emory's campus.

4 College Junior

Administration: Lots of Rules, Lax Enforcement – Emory administrators love to create rules, but in reality, many of these rules don't get enforced or don't have a big impact on students. When it comes to drinking and drug use, you won't get caught unless you make an ass of yourself. If you do get caught, the punishments are not too severe... usually just a slap on the wrist. The exception to this is the honor code which students take very seriously, but it's the students who enforce the honor code, not the school administration.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Not What I Expected – Emory hasn't been advertised as being very fun or spirited. Yet, it has so much of both. Academically , there is a ton of work. But if you handle your time wisely, as I am proud to have done, you have just the same amount of time for partying. and a lot of it.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: At Emory, you mostly walk to get around. However, after a late night frat party you can call Emory Escort, a school sponsored bus that will take you anywhere on campus. It is meant to protect students, but most of us abuse it. x100.

Emory provides for a very unique and rewarding college experience. With the prestigious and academically rigorous University paired with the entertaining and lively city of Atlanta, your experience at Emory will certainly be a memorable one. You will be forced to work hard during your time at Emory, but you will hopefully see the benefits of this shortly thereafter. Many find Emory's celebrated diversity a blessing as well as a curse, as sometimes the various minorities or student groups become extremely cliquey and exclusive, leaving some students feeling left out. But for most this feeling does not last, and they quickly find their group of friends and people who they truly care about. There is a niche and group for everyone at Emory, but sometimes it can take a while to discover where exactly it is.

While the tuition rates at Emory are some of the highest in the nation, many students look back after a few years and feel that their time at Emory was well spent, literally and figuratively. The school has tons of invaluable resources to offer from the million-dollar facilities to the world-class professors, and your experience is truly what you make of it. The city also has an unlimited amount of opportunities and resources at each student's disposal as well. Both Emory and Atlanta have everything anyone could ask for and more, and until you realize this, you will not be able to fully understand the blessing of attending Emory.
