4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel safe. Emory is such a bubble that I don't experience much of the dangers of the outside world.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: Lots of Jewish and Chinese people. Not that it's a bad thing, just different from high school for me.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I lucked out and got one of the best dorms on campus so my opinions are biased. I tried to take into account all of the horror stories I've heard from those in other dorms.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There is quite a large selection of eye candy. However, some of them are pretty stuck-up.

Administration: People here seem pretty chill. It's only when you begin affecting other people that it becomes an issue.

Off-Campus Dining: I don't really get out much so I'm not too sure about how good the off-campus dining options are. This is mainly due to lack of spending money as well lack of transportation. Emory is in Atlanta so the potential dining options are endless; however, getting to these locations is the issue.

3 College Freshman

Campus Quality: There's usually always something to do and places to be.

3 College Freshman

Technology: The wireless cuts a lot but it's usually reliable.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: Everything on campus is in walking distance, but there are still shuttles for on and off campus housing and locations. There is also MARTA and taxis that can take you anywhere for reasonable prices.

Majors: They have removed many majors like Visual Arts and Journalism and will continue to minimize them, but the ones offered are good.

Campus Housing: Dorms are like a hotel! Feel more at home in my dorm than I do at home!

5 College Freshman

Administration: They are strict enough to keep you safe but it's a very free environment.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: We do not have a football team so no one really cares about sports.

Local Area: Lenox is a great shopping mall and there are plenty of things to do in Atlanta and Little Five Points that is relatively easy to get to.

Party Scene: There are always parties every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Very easy to get to Frat Row and taxis are always available after MARTA closes at midnight to explore Atlanta.

Health & Safety: I always feel safe on campus. It's a very closed community and there is always help available.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: I have to pay very very little for school, though the very expensive tuition, because of the generous financial aid offered.

2 College Freshman

Diversity: You will find a large portion of the student body to be white or Asian, and Christians or Jews. If you are not in these categories it is very hard to feel at home or welcome.

2 College Freshman

Weather: The weather always changes, you never know what to expect.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Girls are more attractive than the guys. Hot guys tend to lack personalities.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Our teams are actually very strong and the players are all committed to doing well in school as well.

5 College Freshman

Weather: The weather is very bearable all year around. The only thing that sucks is the rainy season

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: I would stick to the college parties the bars are rather lame

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: There have been some hard times but that comes with every college experience.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: For being a Predominately White Institution, Emory is extremely diverse. Although Greek Life especially tends to be extremely segregated not only in terms of race but socioeconomic status, political beliefs etc

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

Emory provides for a very unique and rewarding college experience. With the prestigious and academically rigorous University paired with the entertaining and lively city of Atlanta, your experience at Emory will certainly be a memorable one. You will be forced to work hard during your time at Emory, but you will hopefully see the benefits of this shortly thereafter. Many find Emory's celebrated diversity a blessing as well as a curse, as sometimes the various minorities or student groups become extremely cliquey and exclusive, leaving some students feeling left out. But for most this feeling does not last, and they quickly find their group of friends and people who they truly care about. There is a niche and group for everyone at Emory, but sometimes it can take a while to discover where exactly it is.

While the tuition rates at Emory are some of the highest in the nation, many students look back after a few years and feel that their time at Emory was well spent, literally and figuratively. The school has tons of invaluable resources to offer from the million-dollar facilities to the world-class professors, and your experience is truly what you make of it. The city also has an unlimited amount of opportunities and resources at each student's disposal as well. Both Emory and Atlanta have everything anyone could ask for and more, and until you realize this, you will not be able to fully understand the blessing of attending Emory.
