Overall Experience: transfer partnership with other schools and their job success rating

Academic Flexibility: I have had a little trouble with the admissions people getting all my classes onto my degree. I had to send my class transcript three times.

4 College Senior

Online Courses: I like online courses sometimes, just because they can be easier if you don't have time to sit in the classroom.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: I have had some of my favorite teachers at this college. They are very concerned about your education.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: I know the ag program has a lot of interneship and job opportunities, but not many with the regular college.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: It has kind of a high school feel, but the teachers are fantastic and reallly care about the students.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: It is a very nice small school atmosphere with extremely nice teachers.

2 College Senior

Online Courses: I've taken online courses through other schools and they are far more advanced. I'm not happy at all with mine, there aren't that many classes to choose from anyway so I guess its a little pointless to offer any with the way they are proctored.

2 College Senior

Career Services: Ellsworth is similar to Hawkeye and NIACC, they like to crank out graduates. I'm not sure if I'm really getting my money's worth here. I really hope so but I'm a little afraid for my future.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Unfortunately, in the Ag building if your professor is part of the Equine programs they don't really give much attention to ag and animal science kids. I feel like there is a rift between the three sections/majors. You can say the same for the students, fighting between classes, it's kind of embarrassing to me. I am an older student (non-traditional) and if I had a choice I would probably go elsewhere, and likely will. I would say Ellsworth has a lot to work on. I'm not going to complain too much, I don't want to sway in-coming students negatively, I just feel I'm not getting my full potential here. For others it may be a completely different deal.

Overall Experience: There are not much for internship prospects unless you want to work at a local co-op which I will more than likely end up doing, or work at a hog confinement. My adviser tries hard but for a small town it really makes things difficult. I feel like come graduation its going to be an uphill battle, but that's just how it is these days anywhere.

Academic Experience: My classes are a mixture of Ag and Animal Science students. The class size is decent most of the time, when my classes aren't canceled. The work load is great compared to other schools I've attended, easy to manage. I hope to complete my mandatory credit hour internship this summer, if I don't transfer schools.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: The classes are decent, I'm an Ag major. However, I would say if I had the money I would probably go elsewhere. I've had some problems with getting into classes that are required for my course. Either there isn't enough students or they can't find a professor to take it on. This has pushed back my graduation date even further. In all honestly the only reason I'm staying on this spring semester is because they are the closest school to me (I commute) and I've already taken out loans. I may transfer out of state once I do my internship this summer and finish elsewhere. I like some of my professors but all in all I'm kind of over Ellsworth. I do have to say they are better than Hawkeye Community College, so at least there's a positive.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: The ease of transferring my credits was very refreshing. Getting my high school to credit me credits through DMACC was difficult and tiring. But transferring the credits to Ellsworth was a breeze and easy. Ellsworth is a great school academically and they take care of each and every student.

4 College Junior

Online Courses: I have only had one online course, and the workload was not bearable and if help was ever needed, the professor was on campus easy to find and willing to help. It was not hard to find another student who was enrolled in the course who could always easily help if needed.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: My experience at Ellsworth has been one to remember. The classes are great and hassle free. I have not had close to any frustrations due to class, only when I once forgot to do a small assignment. The load of homework is heavy compared to what I was used to in high school, but that was as expected.

3 College Junior

Career Services: Finding a job will be easy after leaving Ellsworth. Focusing school towards one specific major has helped me be able to receive a job faster than one who simply went to Ellsworth for Liberal Arts.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: The professors at Ellsworth that I have had so far are great. They really care about a students success. The courses offered are limited but it is understandable considering it is only a two year community college. I like the class sizes, with about only twenty or so students in a classroom it makes it a lot easier to focus.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: The value of a degree from Ellsworth is just the same as any other school. A degree will get someone an internship or job faster than someone without. The career center and services office on campus is very helpful and useful for everyone, but mainly the sophomores wanting to go on to more schooling.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: Being a communications major at Ellsworth is fun. My advisor is also my teacher in some of my classes required to graduate with my major. She really cares about grades and if the students understand the material. I have never met teachers who care so much about students success before I came to Ellsworth.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Ellsworth is a great school to start out at. It has made the transition from high school to college easy and I know my transition to my next four year school will also be easy because of Ellsworth. After one semester I have many memories I will never forget.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: They didn't want to honor my college experience (alcohol & college life, etc) coursework from another institution.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Main campus feels dangerous due to study body and lack of security. Food service was not stellar and the hours of operation are very limited, especially if you are off campus at the equine facilities most of the day. Dorms are clean and reasonable. Showers are actually very nice. Small quiet, but cute town, with little to do if you don't make your own fun. Hour away from any other cities.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Be prepared to work hard as an Equine major, but have the time and resources you can practice with be extremely limited. Know what you want to learn going in - don't just jump in and expect to find a map. Get off main campus as soon as you can.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have heard that a number of promising Equine Management students have scored highly valuable paid internships after working here. I expect that if you're talented and hard working, Ellsworth can be a huge stepping stone in your Western horsemanship career.
