Advice on Finding a Job/Internship
Internships on campus are hard to find. However, the heads of each department have multiple connections with businesses in the surrounding areas, especially in Harrisburg, and it's actually quite easy to get an internship with their help. A few majors require that students take on an internship to gain real work experience, so they have accumulated internship positions with multiple companies for the student to look through and choose. There are teacher assistant positions available, but TAs do not get classroom time or anything similar to that-all classes are taught by professors. There are also tons of job opportunities on campus. There are office positions, as well as spots on the student security team and on the groundskeeping crew. It really depends on what is available each semester. Dining services and the High Library are the major college employers.
