4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: If you don't feel comfortable you can call campus security and they will pick you up from your location and take you to your next destination.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love attending Elizabethtown College. The Professors are the best, and you will get the one on one attention you need. The Professors offer reasonable office hours and will welcome you to see them during the office hours. The class sizes are small compared to other colleges, and it is very beneficial. The campus atmosphere is very accepting and friendly.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: It is better than you would expect. The food variety is very good, and the food at the Jay's Nest is excellent.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are not many places to go unless you have a car.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: I have only attended the gym several times, but the equipment is very good and the gym has a great variety of equipment. Elizabethtown does not have a big athletic facility, but if you are looking to get in shape the Body Shop is a good place to go.

5 College Freshman

Academics: I love the one on one attention you get with the smaller class sizes. The CORE program can be a pain, but it can provide you with a variety of knowledge that will help you with other classes and/or your major.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: If you are fortunate enough to get off campus housing, then good for you. Not many students get approved for it.

3 College Junior

Athletics: We have standard facilities. We have one gym called the Body Shop and another for athletes only. Supposedly they are building a $50 million sports facilities, but that rumour has been going on since before I even came here.

Administration: I have had very mixed reviews of the administration. You either love them or hate them. Unfortunately there seems to be one Professor who ruins everything and think they run the place. If you happen to get on his bad side, you're college experience at Elizabethtown is essentially over because he will make you're life hell until you transfer.

3 College Junior

Local Area: It's a very small town but it has its charm. If you don't have a car on campus, we are fortunate enough to have an Amtrak station right in town.

College Junior

Greek Life: We don't have Greek Life and there is absolutely no interest in one. Anybody that wants Greek life goes to any nearby big school such as Penn State.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: The dorms on campus are great for what we have. Unlike most other schools where on-campus housing is just for your freshman or sophomore year, housing at Etown is guaranteed, actually "required" for all 8 semesters you are at the school. You have to request to live off campus, and if you have any probations or bad grades, you can forget about it.

College Junior

Scholarships: I never received any scholarships from the school because I didn't qualify.

4 College Freshman

Administration: The rules might be strict but the security is wonderful.

5 College Freshman

Academics: Psychology majors have a great education and great professors.

College Freshman

Greek Life: There is no Greek life.

College Freshman

Majors: I haven't had an internship yet but there are a lot

2 College Freshman

Party Scene: There are not many parties.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: There is a family atmosphere on campus. I love it!

4 College Freshman

Local Area: It's a safe and cute town.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: They give out a lot of scholarships.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel completely safe on campus and off campus.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: At first I loved the food, but now I'm pretty sick of it. I have three meal swipes per day, and I never use more than 2 on the same day (some days I don't even go at all). It's decent tasting, but there's just something about it that makes me lose my appetite sometimes. It's also kind of difficult to eat healthy, especially since I'm a picky eater.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: Because the school is so much, there isn't much of a party scene. I never partied at home, so I think the parities here are fine, but I've heard others talk about how they're actually pretty bad. Some of the students here really do like to party though, so there's always something happening on weekends. It's a lot easier to party if you're an athlete or know the right people.

3 College Freshman

Administration: I haven't had many run-ins with campus security. A lot of kids complain about them, but I think they're just doing they're job. Any time I have a question or problem, they're nice and try to be helpful.

Elizabethtown College is quite a wonderful school if one can appreciate a smaller and more personal atmosphere. The faculty and staff at Etown really care and make great efforts to ensure students’ comfort and success. Most everyone is friendly, and the college just feels safe. Students don’t have to think twice about leaving a purse or expensive phone on the table in the cafeteria; they know that everyone will respect that property. That’s the type of community feeling that embodies what it’s like to live and learn at Elizabethtown College. It’s not 100 percent safe or nice, as every place has its problems with crime and drama, but the people at Etown put a lot of effort into making it the greatest college experience.

There is always something happening, some event or occasion that the College supports and funds in order to make the area not quite so dull. Etown realizes it’s not a party school, so it makes an effort to provide entertainment that the students will really enjoy—popular comedians, musicians, movie showings (with free popcorn), concerts, game nights, and more.

Most students would definitely come to Etown again if they had a second chance. They may get bored with the area at times, but a little boredom is a small price to pay for the level of care and commitment that the college is willing to put into their educations and future career successes. The smaller class sizes and qualified professors just make it easier to get the most out of your education. It’s pretty easy to have a sit-down talk with a professor or career counselor, and they are more than willing to provide links or phone numbers or connect students with some of their contacts. As long as you put effort into your education, they are more than willing to put effort into helping you.
