Many students have their own computers at Elizabeth City State University; however, students do not have their own printers. Students usually rely on the Information Technology Center (ITC) lab, the Wilkens lab, the Williams Hall lab, the library, and small computer labs located in the dormitories and student center because they are capable of printing documents within those areas. One great thing about printing is that students are not charged for accessing computers and using the school's printers.

With many classes requiring work to be submitted online, students can easily travel with their laptops and complete their assignments online. Blackboard is really convenient, especially over the summer when many students take online courses at home. Overall, the labs are very convenient for students, especially during last-minute cramming sessions for midterms and finals. Many of the labs stay open until midnight, making it easier for students to complete assignments in a quiet area.
