Campus Food

Campus Food: The food is okay. I wish they had a variety on the menus. All we have is chicken for mainly dinner every night. If it not chicken then it is pork or something else that is not appealing. The grille is good, but it cost so much and therefore the Viking bucks go quicker. I wish they would allow us to use our meal plans in the city of Elizabeth City to some of the other places to eat.

Campus Food: I'd rather go to a fast food place or even make my own food.

Campus Food: The food is nasty. The best thing they have is pizza, which can be bad sometimes. They dining hall is very small and lines are long. You get tired of eating the same things. They don't know how to cook at all.

3 College Senior

Campus Food: It's not bad, but it could be better.

Campus Food: In my opinion, the BEST time to get on campus is in the morning for breakfast. The cafeteria closes at 7:30 so most of the time I'm still hungry when I go to bed. The menu is typically the same. There is only one place to eat on campus and that is Checkers. We are given $75 each semester to use at Checkers if we choose not to eat in the cafeteria.

In Bedell Cafeteria on campus, there are many different options from which to choose. Every day, there is pizza, select sandwiches, salad and fruit bars, a dessert bar, and then the specialty of the day. The only thing is that many students hate the food in the cafeteria. Some say it's tolerable; others say it’s the worst thing they have ever eaten; and a select few think that some of the food is good. Most of the time, when a particular occasion is going on, the food will be awesome; other than that, the food is nowhere near delicious. For these reasons, many students prefer to eat at Checkers on campus or at a fast food restaurant off campus. Even then some students cannot afford to continuously eat off campus, so they have no choice but to eat the cafeteria food.

Some restaurants will give students discounts if they show their student ID. Dining hours can be tricky on weekends as opposed to the weekdays, so students have to make sure they get to the cafeteria before they close down everything. Overall, the cafeteria is not the students' first choice to dine, but when they run out of options, it is the only place to dine.
