3 College Senior

Local Area: Really remote area, not much to do in town. The University is definitely the largest employer.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: I've lived in small towns my whole life, and Portales is even smaller. I originally didn't want to come here because I didn't want to spend the next four years of my life in Portales. There's not much to do here at all, but Clovis and Lubbock are nearby. I'm not used to the lack of mountain ranges; it also smells strongly of dairy cows when the wind blows. And I hate the layout of the town. The main roads are one-way so it takes me longer to get places. With that said, the people here are very friendly and helpful. Everybody knows everybody.

3 College Senior

Local Area: Not good for a student looking for "a real college experience". ENMU is located in a small town of about 18,000 people.

3 College Junior

Local Area: The local atmosphere in Portales, New Mexico is very lively. Everyone is so friendly.

Local Area: theres several good restaurants in town, but if you want to do anything you'll have to leave town like most students. Theres not much going on in Portales
