Eastern Michigan University doesn't have renowned sports teams, but that doesn't mean we don't have several impressive athletes. I'm friends with someone on the track team and swim team. Their practices are rigorous and they work very hard. In terms of school spirit and pride, the football season has plenty of events to spike enthusiasm in students! Our school is small, but that doesn't mean we can't be excited about our athletes! Personally I haven't involved myself in any sports yet, as adjusting to my college studies has been my top priority, but I use the EMU Rec center practically everyday. In addition, there are several fitness classes, ranging from Zumba to Kickboxing, that are available to students. It's fun, fit, and you feel great after. That is what athleticism is all about and EMU works hard to promote that.

Eastern Michigan University is the best! The campus size is perfect, with a beautiful scenery all year round! The student to teacher ratio is very appropriate (30:1 in a normal class). EMU also has a very diverse campus, which I personally love. It is awesome to get to talk to and make new friends through different backgrounds! The professors are very genuine and are always looking to help students to do their best. There are several ways to get involved on campus, whether its through Greek life, academic clubs, club sports, intramural sports, jobs across campus, and more!

Eastern is a great place to learn! I know they've been in the news within the last 10 years or so because of negative things like their awful football team, off-campus crime and such, but Eastern is really a true gem in the Ypsilanti community. The police officers are nice and never once have I felt unsafe within campus. Some of the views on campus are beautiful and the buildings are a mix of old and new. A lot of their professors are good but at the same time I would recommend Rate My Professors so that you don't accidently end up with a bad professor. An underrated thing about Eastern is that they have reverse transfer agreements with area colleges. This is good because if you transfer early, you could still complete requirements for your associate's degree at the other school while taking those classes at Eastern. Eastern can offer more sections, more resources, and more professors to teach them than a community college would typically be able to.
