Overall Experience: In my opinion they need to provide more information t other colleges around so student dont get confuse. Student should always go to an advisor to get right information and dont waste time and money.

Overall Experience: Eastern Michigan University is an awesome school. Make sure you really look at all your options. If your major is a combined bachelors and masters go for something else. Make sure you get your bachelor's before anything to be able to apply to other programs or schools. I am referring the Occupational Therapy program in case anyone is wondering. Meet with advisers!! They are there to HELP AND GUIDE YOU!!!! Also stay on campus a year you will be glad you did it's most likely safer than the surrounding areas and you can get the FULL EXPERIENCE!!!

Overall Experience: Going to Eastern Michigan University was one of the best decisions I have ever made! The campus is beautiful and not too hard to navigate around, the classroom sizes are perfect, the professors and lecturers are helpful and kind, and most importantly the overall atmosphere of people is great as well!

Overall Experience: Although there are things that I wish I could and want to change, there's so much that I love about Eastern Michigan University's campus! One thing that I love is how accepting they are of different cultures, sexes and religions. While walking around campus, you can find the LGBT floor in the Towers, a promotion for Hijab Week and an advertisement for a local church. Something that I would like to change, however, is the amount of events that go on on-campus. Most of the time, there's nothing going on outside of Friday night movies and stargazing, with the occasional play (which students have to pay to see, being a big turn-off). Overall, I love my campus and wouldn't exchange it for anything in the world!

Overall Experience: As a student over 25, who'd been to a few local schools previously, I felt welcomed and like I belonged even though I didn't just graduate from high school. Mind you, I'm not making friends at every turn, but that's to be expected since I'm a commuter and older than a good portion of my classmates. My classes are small which allows for conversation between us and our professor. The professors are personable and available when you need them. I recently had a health issue and my professors were very accommodating in guiding me through completing the work to get credit for the classes. If you're a commuter and on campus for a good portion of the day, there are plenty of spots you can hang out at and plug your laptop or phone in to charge. There's WiFi everywhere! Food in the Student Center is a little pricey, but there's a good variety. My only major complaint is the bathrooms (or lack thereof) in Strong Hall -- the ladies' in the main hall always smells. That whole building needs some attention, bad. But I'm comfortable at Eastern; I'm glad I ended up here.

Party Scene: The party scene at my schools pretty good, most parties happen off campus. I believe the parties affect students social life in a positive light, because you get to meet and interact with others. Especially since it's outside of the classroom.

Administration: Our schools strictness policy is good to me. It's not to overbearing but is protective and had the students best interest at heart. My social nor academic life has been affected due to their policies.

Campus Food: Eating on campus is okay. I wish that there were more healthy options, as well as lower prices on food. A lot of the healthier options however are expensive. The first semester, with the food was okay but after that I was tired of always eating the same thing.

Scholarships: The financial aid process for Eastern Michigan is okay. It's just more so, how much financial aid a person recieves. A tip I would give anyone seeking financial help at Eastern is to always check on scholarships. Really stay on top of that process.

Campus Housing: To live on campus is great. There's always something to do whether there is an activity planned by the resident advisors or a sporting event. Getting to each of the areas on campus is fast and easy. The atmosphere is also really friendly.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: It's strict to a certain extent

4 College Sophomore

Administration: The whole campus has tight security and the rules are just lenient enough to have some fun in the dorms. As long as you don't disturb your neighbors you're fine.

Off-Campus Dining: The city has a great amount of food that's fairly cheap if you go at the right time. There is also plenty of delivering options. I highly suggest the Fast Track or Towers Inn.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: There are plenty of options and food is close no matter where you live. The dining plans are good (besides needing one Freshmen year) and good food is easy to find. The Commons is hit or miss most days, but the Eateries and Eagle Cafes make up for it.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The Financial Aid program focuses on getting the majority of students through a 4 year degree. There are competitive and need based scholarships and major oriented ones. They also have tons of programs for study abroad. They really want students to be able to continue their education no matter what the financial situation.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Living in the Honors Dorms was a great experience. The campus is small enough to navigate and large enough to offer a change of scenery if you take a walk. The buildings are easy to get to, even though I was walking uphill most days. Plus, their is a good teacher rating system that actually affects whether they get to continue teaching or not. Bad profs do get punished ;)

Off-Campus Housing: You're better off living off campus than you are trying to live on campus. There's better food options, parking is easier, and you can easily find a place a hop, skip, and a jump from campus grounds!

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Tower Inn, STUFD, Insomnia Cookies, etc. are all great places to get food off campus at almost any time of day!

4 College Junior

Administration: The campus administration is there to keep everyone safe. I always feel safe while on campus.

3 College Junior

Campus Food: Whatever you do, don't eat at the "sh**eries" (Eateries). You'll have stomach issues for days. The Marketplace has great healthy options and a wide variety, but it is on the far side of campus and you need to set aside 45-60 minutes to get there, get food, eat, and get anywhere else on campus.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: If you need the financial aid and apply the first day it opens, then you have no problem. However, if anything goes wrong, good luck talking to anyone in financial aid. They're very hard to talk to and most assume you know everything. They don't notify you of changes in your financial aid, so you must constantly check for consistency, and they're very good and screwing up or just plain forgetting about you and your situations.

Campus Housing: There isn't enough housing for the number of students Eastern has. It's really costly to apply for the housing, and then not be guaranteed to find what you're looking for. Also, it takes months before you are refunded if you cancel your application. Or, there's a possibility you won't be refunded at all. It's lacking in quality of the rooms (for some buildings) and the roommate selection process is not well-developed either. I recommend living on campus for your first year to get the experience, but after that, move off campus. You'll be better off if you find friends to share an apartment with than you would be on campus.
