Overall Experience: My overall school experience has been great, everyone on campus is really friendly with everyone else. What makes my school unique is that because it is fairly small, we don't really have lecture halls, and that way, everyone gets to know each other and the professors know the students as well.

Overall Experience: I can only speak on behalf of my own experience, but the people I have had the pleasure of meeting are fantastic and extremely friendly. The PoliSci program at EIU is also great and all of our professors are quite knowledgeable in their fields and a big help to any student that seeks it.

Overall Experience: Eastern challenges me each time I enter the classroom. The teacher challenge me to think and do my best in everything I do

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I attend Eastern Illinois University, and before I started school there in the fall of 2014 I was very happy with the decision I'd made. But after my freshman year, I was a little less impressed with the school. Its not so much the school, but more of the town it resides in. Charleston Illinois is a very displeasing town to live in and the only good thing about it is the college itself. I like the school for the fact that the major I'm pursuing has a very good program and the classes I've taken thus far have taught me a lot even after just one year. The school is a bit smaller for a state school so its easy to get around campus and I appreciate that. Greek life is very prevalent at Eastern and I myself decided to join a sorority. Sorority life has probably been the most memorable experience thus far in my college experience.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I was worried about going to larger coed public college, as I went to a small parochial all girls high school. I transitioned easily to EIU and quickly found a great group of friends. My numerous AP classes have allowed me to be almost a year ahead in my studies. I have had no bad experiences with professors; all the ones I have encountered have been nothing but interested in helping their students exceed. The people on campus are nothing but welcoming as well. I would choose to go to EIU again.

Overall Experience: It's great beacuase of the great friendships I have made there. However, you have to work on trying out new thing that you may have not done in high school. I love that EIU is small public school because there are times when im walking to my classes and I see familiar faces but once in awhile i'll see some new faces on campus. There are so many organization to join on campus that everyone and anyone can join. There are always one or two professors that you are excited to have for the school year but there will be a time you will be in a class with a teacher , who you looked up their rating on "rate my professor", who you are nervous about, but then they end up being your favorite teacher that semester! One thing I wish EIU campus had more of was better dining option for students on and especially off campus.

Overall Experience: I've had a great time so far, everyone that I've met has been helpful and nice and wonderful and I've enjoyed all of my classes that I've taken.

Off-Campus Dining: I have eaten of campus plenty of times. I question if I qualify for a student discount as a graduate student.

Scholarships: I found the information for aid, but I did not have time to apply. I also was worried that I wouldn't qualify.

Off-Campus Dining: I wish we had some healthier and more popular food places around the area. A smoothie place and a Panera would be a hit in Charleston.

Administration: I wish administration would be more strict with drug usage, however keep in mind, that because one roommate is doing something wrong, do not assume the other roommate is too.

Scholarships: Eastern offers numerous scholarships and they make them easy for students to access and apply. They even provide a scholarship search engine on their website to filter scholarships you're eligible for.

Party Scene: I am a bad judgment of character on parties because I do not attend them often. I do know however that they are fun, and usually do not get too out of hand. My friends enjoy going to them and never feel threatened or scared to walk home late at night.

Campus Food: Eastern's dining halls sometimes offer fresh, tasty food, however that is not always. Most of the time the food is chicken tenders, and other fried food, with very limited variety. I have found myself eating food in my dorm more this year because I get tired of the food they offer within a couple months. I feel the quality of the food should improve as well.

Campus Housing: I love that my college offers diverse housing. They have different style dorms and apartments, there is a dorm for everyone. I did not like the feel of the first place I lived on campus, but once I moved to one that suited me more it was perfect! Everyone has a preference and Eastern's housing is bound to offer something that will meet anyone's needs and requests. They also make changing your housing application simple and quick.

Off-Campus Housing: Living on campus is a much better option than off-campus.

Off-Campus Dining: Charleston is kinda small so sometimes you have to travel.

Administration: Admin at Eastern are very nice and courteous, esp the RAs.

4 College Student

Scholarships: It didn't take much for me to get the financial aid i needed.

Party Scene: I think that the parties on campus are really fun!

4 College Student

Campus Housing: I love living on campus. The dorms are convenient and clean. Teachers and staff are great.

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Most of the food is fast food, they should really add a different place

3 College Freshman

Administration: The administration could try a little bit more on being strict against underage drinking. A lot of people I know are usually drunk or on drugs every night when they come back to the floor.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: There aren't really a lot of scholarships I can apply to with my 2.94 GPA

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: Too many people, the music is really dumb, I would prefer better music at parties, like music from the 80s
