Athletics: Football is the big sport here at ECU. Our football team won the bowl game this year which was really exciting for everyone on campus! Games are always the best part and make sure to join the student pirate club to have a guaranteed seat at every home football game!

Guys & Girls: There are lots of options, it's college! If you can find somewhere here you may meet someone in the city at the clubs or other social events?

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: If you live on campus the clubs are literally walking distance. If you live in apartments you can just take the school transit which is free. It really fun and always something going on downtown.

Parking: The parking passing get sold fast and their are usually still spots for the lots that are sold out but they won't sell you a pass. Some parking lots are fairly close to dorms and classes. Others require a bus to get to.

4 College Freshman

Administration: I've never had nor seen anything really happen.

Overall Experience: It's been a good experience and I love my school! There is never a dull moment. Teachers are super helpful and everyone is really nice.

Transportation: The ECU transit is free and there go pretty much every where. They go all around campus, to apartments, and all around Greenville.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: If you're used to loving with others in your space then the dorms are for you. However freshman have to live in the dorms their first so you don't have an option freshman year. There are lots of apartment complexes around that have ECU buses that go there so those are always options after freshman year.

Local Area: Everyone's really nice. Downtown is not far at which is where a lot of the clubs are that people go to. There is not a lot of parking for students and you have to buy a pass which can get expensive. Even when there are not sports events going on on campus you can join a club or intramural team and play sports that way. There is always something going on on campus so you'll never be bored.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: At first it's ok eating the dining hall everyday for every because obviously when you get unlimited access to the dining hall, you want to take advantage of it so you don't have to spend money. After a while though it gets boring a you are ready for a change. But it's not terrible and everything always look good and there are always different options to choose from.

4 College Freshman

Weather: Sometimes rain can come out of no where, but usually when you check the weather it's pretty accurate. This is the south so it can get really, but it gets really cold too. Usually though the weather doesn't affect much going on on campus.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

The quality and enthusiasm of the professors who care about their students is what attracts and retains students who could have gone to larger and more prestigious schools. Greenville is quite charming and has such good local food that most skeptics love the area, or at least ECU, by the time they graduate. Although the campus police are friendly, ECU is quite strict, perhaps in an effort to downplay the “party school” reputation. The strictness, however, contributes to student safety and helps reduce the drug presence on campus. Alcohol is a problem for some students, and the clubs are tempting, but the counseling center can help students with their problems. ECU’s computer resources are excellent, and the athletic facilities are better than the teams’ records. ECU’s most enjoyable facilities are the green areas, especially because the weather here is so pleasant—crazy, but pleasant.

Whether living on or off campus, students should join organizations to maximize their college involvement and build leadership experience for their resume. With ECU’s diverse student population, new students can easily find an organization, Greek or non-Greek, that is for them. ECU is reputed to have one of the highest concentrations of pretty girls anywhere, and the guys are good-looking overall, too. The Southern hospitality creates a welcoming social atmosphere. ECU has been through sports losses and administrative shake-ups in the past, but some of the political damage seems to be getting straightened out. So, as usual, ECU students are optimistic. They will continue to be easy-going, yet serious and balanced, fun-loving learners.
