Weather: The weather isn't bad at all. I mean yes, occasionally it snows and is cold in the winter, but where isn't it? Philadelphia has a nice year-round changing weather.

Administration: Drug/Alcohol Policy – Our schools drug policy is much stricter than any other school I know. They should really be able to relax a little bit more with it. It is college, kids want to have fun.

Campus Housing: Depends on the Hall – The dorms really depend on which hall you are in. Living in Race or North is so much better than Myers or Kelly. Suite style is really the way to go because of the bathroom and kitchen.

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of Option – Obviously living in Philadelphia provides tons of different restaurants and theres also lots of affordable options. The buffalo chicken pizza on campus is the best around!

2 College Sophomore

Campus Food: So far from the dorms and miserable to get to in the winter. Food is not so great but its an okay atmosphere. Northside is far superior and I love currito

Majors: Drexel just recently had a new integrated sciences building built largely for the biology program and it is GORGEOUS. I feel that Drexel cares about the biology program, however, I feel as though their biggest focus is on the engineering programs and the business college.

Local Area: Growing up in a smaller city, I always wanted to live in a place that offered more culturally in terms of the arts, shopping, etc. In Philadelphia I get all that and more. There is always something to go do or see, plenty of museums ranging from history, art, and natural sciences as well as plenty of places to go shopping. Philadelphia is definitely an exciting place to live.

Diversity: At Drexel you tend to see a lot of white students. Although there are other races, you don't see a huge array of them represented. Drexel does have large Asian and African American populations but that's about all the diversity you'll find.

Majors: Health Care Administration – There is a high demand for healthcare administrators so I do not regret my decision to join this program at all! If I could do it all over again, I would. I have no doubt that when I graduate this year, there will be a job waiting for me!

Administration: Uphold Academic Honor – When it comes to their Academic Honesty Policy, Drexel means business! They are serious about plagiarism and any student found plagiarizing another's work will be placed on academic probation or expelled!

Party Scene: Honestly Nightlife here is not that good. I am currently a freshman and I attempt to go out as often as possible but there are simply no good parties. If you are not in a frat than there are simply no parties available. Frat parties do not allow non greek students in and greek life here is pretty lame anyway the majority of kids join just to party and the frats fill up and have no purpose.
If you are not in a frat Sunday-Wednesday there is simply nothing going on. But you may be able to find a small populated house party every other month if you know the right people. But if it is a fri or sat than your party will be as follows

7-1 Guy to Girl ratio
One keg of cheap foamy beer
5 dollar entry fee
Solid Music
About 30-50 kids at any given time
Parties are usually out of beer or broken up by 2:00

So if your having a good time at a Drexel party you are usually
a girl
in a frat
or super wasted

To be honest there aren't tons of social people at Drexel the majority of kids are shut ins and don't think its a big school because of its numbers you always see the same kids around you would think there were 500 kids at this school

You don't have to believe my post but that's been my point of view I've been to good parties and Drexel rarely has any of them.

Your only hope is penn there is no cover charge to get in beer is in cans and the ratio is a little better and the kids are more social.

And as for clubs ive got a good fake so I can get in but if you don't have a stellar fake don't plan on it bouncers are trained to spot fakes

Athletics: Division 1 Sports – I think thats it's really neat that our school is pretty much D-1 in every sport, but our school also lacks sports I am used to seeing: track & field or football

Overall Experience: Drexel is a great school, but very, very expensive. I am in the process of transferring out because I feel that it is not worth the price.

Campus Housing: Kelly Residence Hall – I live in Kelly hall and I find it very nice. I was hesitant when I saw pictures, but it has proven to be one of my favorite dormitories. The bathrooms are cleaned every day (found to be VERY important) and I have a beautiful view of the Philadelphia skyline from my room. My closest friends are those on my floor, but everyone is friendly and easy to get alone with. It is also nice because directly beneath me is a Subway restaurant, Currito, and Chik-Fil-A.
The only thing keeping me from rating our campus housing an A is the price.

Local Area: Philadelphia: the City of Brotherly Love – I've had an incredible experience time living in Philadelphia so far. I've had a chance to walk around the city and visit historical attractions. I have been to a few concerts and have had a great night every time. My friends and I walk down to Chinatown all the time for authentic chinese food. My mother is Chinese, so it is nice having good food away from home too.

Administration: The police only really care about curfew, not underage drinking. If you're drinking in a dorm, it is a big issue and you get fined for it and have to take a class.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I do not feel unsafe on campus. There are often many people around and public safety is always around at night. Although the area is on the shady side in some parts, generally on campus there isn't a problem.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: Diversed Campus – The campus is full of many diverse groups of people. One can always find a group and fit in easily. Drexel is continuously improving its buildings throughout the campus. It has many accessible facilities right on campus. There's a gym which offers wide range of exercising activities. It has many food trucks throughout the campus which offer diverse selection of food choices- from Arabic to Chinese food.

Overall Experience: I love Drexel University. It has a great student body and once you find your group of peopl you will never want to leave them. We are so diverse at Drexel that we have multiple people that can relate to anyone who attends. It has such a nice campus and everything you would ever need is never too far away.

3 College Student

Weather: Chilly in Philly – Recently its been rather cold at Drexel. Considering most students have to walk at least a block to get to their classes, cold weather makes the walk to class even more intolerable. Not as bad when it is warmer.

Diversity: The diversity at Drexel University is rather good. There are many different races seen at Drexel, majority of them being Asian but obviously there are many more. Sometimes certain races tend to only involve themselves in their own race but not too often.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Drexel is very unique when it comes to internships. We have a co-op program where students take 6 months or more to actually work in the field you are studying. Your boss then writes an evaluation of how you work and you write a self-assessment. Not all co-ops are paid though. They will give you the tools you need to compete for a job but its up to you to get it.

Guys & Girls: Guys and Girls – A lot of the younger girls are cliche airheads, who dress alike and travel in packs. The guys are the same. As people mature though, everyone seems to be cool. I guess it's all about growing up. There is a crowd for everyone though. If you join clubs and activities that fit your interests, you'll definitely get friends for life. There are really good people at the school.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: After freshman year many students choose to live "off-campus". Surrounding the dorms are many places for rent. Also, Drexel has leases the first couple of floors of University Crossings. This is nice because your you can pay for housing through with your student loans and grants. The process of independent living is a gradual process.

4 College Freshman

Academics: College Is the "Best" – I always knew that drexel university was the college for me it has one of the best engineering program in the state. I live on campus and I'm loving it. I mostly enjoy making new friends and meeting other students from all over the world.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

Some students complain about the "Drexel Shaft" screwing up their scheduling or billing, or a poor professor. The truth is that students will find red tape headaches and unfortunate instructors at just about every university. As long as students are picky about the professors and classes they enroll in, they can surely guarantee a positive academic experience. The University is filled with incredible professors that are more than willing to impart their professional wisdom. The Drexel Co-op is Drexel's strongest selling point, and many students come here specifically for that program. Some can't wait to graduate and zip through their classes, concentrating more on their co-op, as they feel it gives them more valuable experience. This vocational approach of the student works against the joy of the college learning experience. Some students scoff at the idea of taking electives in other academic concentrations, which they might enjoy or which could make them a more well-rounded person.

The hurry to graduate is mostly because of the fact that co-ops usually require students to stay at Drexel for five years. Students load up on courses when they are in school, try just to pass them, and complete their programs as soon as possible. This does not need to be the case, and the students that realize this earlier on tend to be immensely happier than the aforementioned students. It's unfortunate that this facet of students at Drexel feels this rush, but most of the other students relish their college experience and the various benefits Drexel has to offer. Most students are thrilled they went to Drexel in the end. The co-op is an invaluable experience that puts students ahead in the job race after graduation (it also beats any menial college job).
