Technology: The only really great quality is that there are places where you can actually "rent" a laptop for a certain period of time - for free - so when my computer was getting fixed I was still able to get work done!

Campus Food: The food in the dining hall is pretty bad. Luckily, because of the location, there are lots of places around/close to campus to eat.

Diversity: It's a big school in a city. There is pretty much every kind of student possible. It's hard to say how many people are accepting or not, but is definitely not strong on one side or the other.

Majors: At Drexel there are Co-ops as well as internships. I plan to do 3 co-ops during my time. It allows people to get in the field that they are interested in and gain experience and start networking.

Overall Experience: My school has a lot to offer...it is growing and has many new buildings and facitlities. My music industry major is one of the best in the county and has great profs. Lot's of opportunities to meet all aspects of the industry and recording studios are great too. Coop will allow me to advance my career. Many diverse students with all kinds of background which I also like.

Majors: Drexel has a co-op system which allows students to take 3 or 1 six month internships while in school. They count as credits and also pay (depending on employer). The internships range from big companies so small ones. Students are able to get co-ops abroad and create their own. There really isn't any boundaries when it comes to internships because its what Drexel is known for.

Technology: Drexel is big on IT. It was one of the first to bring Mac into the classroom. I like to take hand written notes so I allowed to do that but a lot of assignments are done via online.

Campus Food: Its pretty good but I enjoy buying my own food and dining on my own time. The cafeteria staff can be moody which is frustrating when we pay the amount of tuition.

Some students complain about the "Drexel Shaft" screwing up their scheduling or billing, or a poor professor. The truth is that students will find red tape headaches and unfortunate instructors at just about every university. As long as students are picky about the professors and classes they enroll in, they can surely guarantee a positive academic experience. The University is filled with incredible professors that are more than willing to impart their professional wisdom. The Drexel Co-op is Drexel's strongest selling point, and many students come here specifically for that program. Some can't wait to graduate and zip through their classes, concentrating more on their co-op, as they feel it gives them more valuable experience. This vocational approach of the student works against the joy of the college learning experience. Some students scoff at the idea of taking electives in other academic concentrations, which they might enjoy or which could make them a more well-rounded person.

The hurry to graduate is mostly because of the fact that co-ops usually require students to stay at Drexel for five years. Students load up on courses when they are in school, try just to pass them, and complete their programs as soon as possible. This does not need to be the case, and the students that realize this earlier on tend to be immensely happier than the aforementioned students. It's unfortunate that this facet of students at Drexel feels this rush, but most of the other students relish their college experience and the various benefits Drexel has to offer. Most students are thrilled they went to Drexel in the end. The co-op is an invaluable experience that puts students ahead in the job race after graduation (it also beats any menial college job).
