Campus Quality: I have joined many clubs on campus such as campus activities board and a sorority and the cheer team

3 College Junior

Weather: When it is cold outside or rainy it makes it hard to attend class but when it is sunny it is motivation to get to class

3 College Junior

Administration: The strictness at Drexel is strict because you are running on a 10 week quarter system where you need to be on top of all your work

4 College Junior

Greek Life: There is a lot of different soroities and frats within Drexel university. I do not participate so I do not know the logisitics.

3 College Junior

Local Area: I love this city and with so many schools around there is always people to meet and things to do. I enjoy where I live and go to school. The activities are great and I can always find something to do whenever I have time away from classes and studying.

3 College Junior

Campus Food: The dining experience is not bad. There are typical a lot of options and all the food that I want is generally well replenished and I do not have any complaints of what they do or do not have because there is something that I will eat there.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: The school is pretty pricey but I was able to get scholarships and loans. I will struggle next year with getting loans but it is all an ongoing problem that many students deal with. I luckily have family members that are able to be cosigners and help me take out loans successfully. The tips I would give is to apply to as many scholarships as possible in hopes of getting help with paying for Drexel

Parking: I live off campus and right near my house there is always parking and the walk is not very far. I would have to search for a few minutes to find parking before I moved into the city but I always knew where there would be parking. I do not mind walking far so parking typically is not a problem for me. I wish there were more places where it was free and there was no time limits but I am okay with the parking situation especially since this is a city.

Diversity: With all of the clubs and opportunities to get involved on campus this university expresses high tolerance to diversity. There is a club for every kind of race, political belief, sexual orientation, etc., even if there was not a group the ability to create a group is easy. This allows for people like myself to feel accepted throughout my experience here at Drexel.

Majors: The nursing program is very competitive and it is extremely hard at times. It will be worth it in the end and the co-op program really sets up up for a promising future once you graduate. I enjoy the professors they are very good and I like most of my colleagues that I have a majority of my classes with. The opportunities within Philadelphia and Drexel are great and I am very lucky to be in a great school in a great city.

Majors: I have yet to experience the co-op program but from what I have heard from students and people who have looked into the Drexel co-op program it is very successful. The co-op program consists of the student working full time in an environment similar to what they may want to do after graduation and it sets them up for what they could be doing for the rest of their professional careers.

3 College Junior

Administration: I have not experienced much of anything concerning campus strictness. I am a student that lives off campus and I have never lived on campus since I have attended Drexel. The security guards patrol around campus and even a little past campus to make sure students that do live off campus are still protected and that is a bonus.

Overall Experience: The work load is overbearing at times but the city and the environment makes up for all of the added stress. There is plenty of things to get your mind off of your studies and I definitely need that. Drexel has the co-op program and that sets you up for your future after you graduate very well as long as you take advantage of the opportunity and build professional relationships with the professors and people you get to know throughout the co-op experience.

4 College Junior

Athletics: There are a lot of options and a lot of club teams that recruit frequently and efficiently throughout the school year. The school spirit is great and all of the varsity events are well displayed throughout campus allowing for students to be aware and come out to show their teams support. The facilities have great work study positions and they have accessible equipment and it is all in good shape.

Majors: It was farily easyu to choose a major. Your advisor is a big help in designing your program.

Academics: You have plenty of opportunties to be creative. You can help other people in different majors withtheir projects so you can get different ideas and points of view

Technology: There are plenty of labs available. Alos tech support is available and can address most software problems and advise on hardware issues too.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: I liked coming to drexel, but I think if the scholarships and tuition was lowered, i would have enjoyed it more.

3 College Senior

Parking: I don't have a car but theres enough free parking to not get too frustrated.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

Some students complain about the "Drexel Shaft" screwing up their scheduling or billing, or a poor professor. The truth is that students will find red tape headaches and unfortunate instructors at just about every university. As long as students are picky about the professors and classes they enroll in, they can surely guarantee a positive academic experience. The University is filled with incredible professors that are more than willing to impart their professional wisdom. The Drexel Co-op is Drexel's strongest selling point, and many students come here specifically for that program. Some can't wait to graduate and zip through their classes, concentrating more on their co-op, as they feel it gives them more valuable experience. This vocational approach of the student works against the joy of the college learning experience. Some students scoff at the idea of taking electives in other academic concentrations, which they might enjoy or which could make them a more well-rounded person.

The hurry to graduate is mostly because of the fact that co-ops usually require students to stay at Drexel for five years. Students load up on courses when they are in school, try just to pass them, and complete their programs as soon as possible. This does not need to be the case, and the students that realize this earlier on tend to be immensely happier than the aforementioned students. It's unfortunate that this facet of students at Drexel feels this rush, but most of the other students relish their college experience and the various benefits Drexel has to offer. Most students are thrilled they went to Drexel in the end. The co-op is an invaluable experience that puts students ahead in the job race after graduation (it also beats any menial college job).
