Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is expensive! It can also be hard to find something that is decent close by. I would say that most students try to move off campus. Parking is always difficult. Safety isn't too big of an issue unless you start looking past a certain point. The campus security patrols only a couple blocks off campus.

Greek Life: I don't know a whole lot about Greek Life. There are Greek housing options. Greek life really isn't much here.

Athletics: Yeah, the biggest sport for Drexel is basketball and we are not even that great at it. There is a decent amount of school spirit, but it is nothing like other colleges. Joining intramurals is not easy unless you have a group of people to make a team of your own. On the other hand, the fitness/rec center is brand new and really nice.

Local Area: Philadelphia sports teams are a short train ride to the stadiums. There are plenty of stores on south street and the gallery. Old city is not too far. Penns landing. Bars and nightlife are everywhere as long as you're old enough.

3 College Senior

Athletics: This is not a football school but people will attend basketball games.

3 College Senior

Local Area: There are a lot of bars nearby but it is not in the safest area

Campus Housing: Living on campus is fine, until you realize how incredibly expensive it is.

Health & Safety: We have one of the best campus security systems in the country. And partnered with Penn, which is the top in the nation, I feel extremely safe whenever I'm on campus.

5 College Senior

Majors: I was automatically accepted into my current academic program because of my high GPA throughout high school.

Majors: I love my program. I learn about current events, what they really mean, and political players' motives behind their actions. Many of my classes include intense amounts of reading and writing, but the workload overall is manageable. The facilities are not terrible; however, they are being neglected as Drexel sets its sights on creating more appealing facilities for the other more popular majors.

Academics: Drexel is primarily an engineering school, then a business school. My major fits into neither of those categories, but I still feel challenging every single day. The quarter system upon which our schedule is based, is very challenging. It forces students to learn and retain knowledge very quickly while teaching us how to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The professors, while often foreign, all have PhD's in their respective fields of study which results in intelligent class discussions.

Local Area: Philadelphia is an amazing city for an college student. There's always plenty to do, tons of great sights to see, and an insane amount of delicious restaurants! It's also a very laid-back city, so you never feel as though you don't look good enough. Furthermore, Philadelphia is a very open and accepting city with a thriving gay culture. It's the perfect place to fully embrace and develop yourself.

Off-Campus Dining: Lot's of places to go- but it can get pricy

College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Don't have much experience with either. Drexel Police are friendly though and nice people

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: Endless things to do, but the views do not even compare to the rural scenes of the middle of Pennsylvania

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Terrible ratios and unfortunate that girls get into houses for free. Best just hosting own party/ hangouts with own friends or going to a bar

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I don't partake, you're not judged for joining. They like to keep their houses exclusive to members and close friends

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Apartments off campus are cheaper and you get your own room. Completely outweighs being a few blocks further from campus.

3 College Junior

Athletics: The atheletic sceen is similar to most universities. i beleive most students are mostly focused on their objective of education instead of extra activities such as sports. I do beleive there is a place and need for sports . school spirit and support always and all the time. Cummunication is the over all key for me to learn and others to learn in College and the University setting

3 College Junior

Party Scene: The party sceen is best when people socialize, talk to one another without drinking or druging. The best parties are around these types of people be them whoever. Clean, fun is both educational and safe for all .

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Over all the variety and cost of various foods, suplies, commodities are easy and conveinent to locate and get to. This is a great location for so manythings.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: I think all students should experience college housing atleast once. The overall experience is humbling and respected by myself. i prefer the freedoms of living wiothout noise, etc.. that comes with private home living off campus. but for many it works out just fine. my preference is not to live in college housing. There is nothing wrong with it. i have done it before.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: I have no major issues with anything at Drexel University Online. This statement is and has been across the board. Finacial aid is a process , it is not a problem .... all things take time and patience to attain. im ok with the process and out comes.

4 College Junior

Majors: My particular area of interest is specifically selected with my own loves and passions in this life and what i consider interesting. I give other the same respect to be independent , just i am in my thoughts.

3 College Junior

Majors: i have never had an internship.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

Some students complain about the "Drexel Shaft" screwing up their scheduling or billing, or a poor professor. The truth is that students will find red tape headaches and unfortunate instructors at just about every university. As long as students are picky about the professors and classes they enroll in, they can surely guarantee a positive academic experience. The University is filled with incredible professors that are more than willing to impart their professional wisdom. The Drexel Co-op is Drexel's strongest selling point, and many students come here specifically for that program. Some can't wait to graduate and zip through their classes, concentrating more on their co-op, as they feel it gives them more valuable experience. This vocational approach of the student works against the joy of the college learning experience. Some students scoff at the idea of taking electives in other academic concentrations, which they might enjoy or which could make them a more well-rounded person.

The hurry to graduate is mostly because of the fact that co-ops usually require students to stay at Drexel for five years. Students load up on courses when they are in school, try just to pass them, and complete their programs as soon as possible. This does not need to be the case, and the students that realize this earlier on tend to be immensely happier than the aforementioned students. It's unfortunate that this facet of students at Drexel feels this rush, but most of the other students relish their college experience and the various benefits Drexel has to offer. Most students are thrilled they went to Drexel in the end. The co-op is an invaluable experience that puts students ahead in the job race after graduation (it also beats any menial college job).
