Scholarships: I received a fairly modest scholarship covering 1/4th of my expenses, but after an appeal that explained how my family's financial situation has changed since then, the scholarship amount was raised to cover half of my expenses.

Administration: Drexel's administration is know for giving kids the "Drexel shaft". They usually fall behind handling financial aid matters, and maintenance is often weeks behind schedule. Regardless, the teachers and professors are quite helpful and will contact you promptly if an issue arises.

Overall Experience: A Drexel degree is worth more than gold compared to other colleges. The university prepares the students with academics that separate them from others. Also, students will graduate with hands-on training throughout the Cooperative program all the way through college.

The professors treat each student with a sense of urgency to learn and grasp all of the knowledge to be prepared for the near future

Drexel have many career and academic services and centers available from the freshman year to college graduates.

Overall Experience: The professors take pride in teaching courses by using different methods, from lectures, online interaction, videos, and outside interest to grasp the information taught. the instruction is geared to give the best information to use in future academia and students professional lives.

Classes are offered at multiple times of the week, including Saturdays and online classes. the best quality is the small classes to allow the professors to cater to every student.

Campus Housing: Campus housing is average to nearby colleges. The dorms are in great need of modernization. The construction of new dorms will create a variety of options and amenities then what is offered today. The location of the campus housing is very convenient to classes and labs. but, the housing is very expensive, causing multiple students to elect to live in off-campus housing.

Health & Safety: The health and safety is above average. The campus is secured by security on foot, bikes and in cars, form the University team to the Philadelphia Police department. The force is larger that most colleges, whereas you may see at least one to two officers monitoring one corner. the entire campus is clean and illuminated, plus is flooded with cameras from the university and the city. There are emergency call buttons throughout campus and even where students reside off-campus to give a full sense of security.

Administration: The Drexel Administration is very strict on academic and social activities. Drexel follows unfailing guidelines and policies that keep uniform codes of conducts and activities open compliant to all students, administrators, and even visitors. The university requires approval in advance to use alcohol at any function , which limits underage drinking, along with requirements of security at many functions.

Greek Life: The Greek life on campus is different from some colleges. This life is a great way for students, especially freshman to meet new people. the Greeks at Drexel are focused more on achievement and networking over disorderly parties and pledging. The groups are viewed by others as cliché's with special interests.

Greeks fill fraternities and sororities on campus, then in later years move off-campus and share large houses.

Off-Campus Housing: The Off-Campus housing is abundantly available, from rooming houses up to bedroom homes. The cost range from $500 per room for minimal accommodations, with no central air, utilities, or modernized living, whereas the luxury rooms have al amenities, including utilities, cable and data, which may be as much as $1000 per room, per month.

the parking is great if students have vehicles registered where they live, to benefit from the 24 hour permit parking program. The increase in automobile insurance is a downside for using registering a vehicle in the city.

The nearby neighborhoods are safe places to reside, since the area is monitored by Drexel security and Police, cameras in most residential areas, and the Philadelphia Police Department.

Party Scene: The party scene on Drexel campus is calmer than some colleges. For example the dorm and Greek parties are closely monitored by the University security and Police for overcrowding locations, excessive noise, and other disorderly conduct. But, after the parties end or are shut down by the campus authorities, the students flock to off-campus housing in nearby communities, like Mantua and Powelton Village. The Party scene is completely opposite; since party goers forget that they are partying in communities of families and elderly people. They overcrowd homes, practice under-age drinking, liter in the neighborhoods with "red cups" and urine, along with other disorderly conduct, causing residents to call the local Police department.

Off-Campus Dining: The Off-Campus Dining is average to other areas in Philadelphia, since there is an abundance of option; in addition, Drexel University is a hop, skip, and a jump into Center City. There are many opportunities to choose, from fine dining to fast food, and limited sinner menus to 24-hour diners. The Off-Campus Dining does not caterer to students, since there ate no perks or discounts to patronize the facility.

Athletics: Basketball is the main sport at Drexel, but since the season has not started there hasn't been much interest in sports yet.

Guys & Girls: There is no typical Drexel student. Drexel is extremely diverse and it is almost impossible to describe the student body in one description.

Local Area: Philadelphia is amazing. There is always something to do either on campus, down town, or at other nearby schools.

3 College Student

Greek Life: Most Drexel students are not involved in greek life. It doesn't really work well in the city. It's there if you want it and there's no pressure if you don't.

3 College Student

Scholarships: It is honestly not enough and I am struggling just to finance my first quarter and it is only week 5.

4 College Student

Party Scene: There is always at least 10 parties going on from Thursday to Saturday nights. Girls go free guys are usually $5. There is an abundance of alcohol and some people over do it. There is only pressure to drink at frats, but most house parties are aware of how drunk party goers are and do their best to take of them.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of food trucks that range in price and variety. The sit down restaurants are a little pricey.

4 College Student

Campus Quality: The majority of the building in my major a new and very nice. Freshman dorms are not that nice, and the 1 ply toilet paper is horrible.

2 College Student

Off-Campus Housing: Unless you want to pay $1000 a month for a decent place, you're a getting a rundown apartment or a converted victorian

Off-Campus Housing: As far as I know there is great off campus housing at very reasonable rates.

Administration: They hold us to extremely high standards, but its not bad. It keeps us working hard.

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of variety because we're in the city, also kind of expensive for a college kid's budget

Athletics: We don't have a football team. Our big sport is basketball, but most students here didn't come here for the sports so a lot of people don't care much about it or any other sports. The kind of people that get into our school are the kind of people who don't really do sports.

Off-Campus Housing: So much cheaper - especially having your own room. Many places are recently renovated and fairly nice to live in.

Some students complain about the "Drexel Shaft" screwing up their scheduling or billing, or a poor professor. The truth is that students will find red tape headaches and unfortunate instructors at just about every university. As long as students are picky about the professors and classes they enroll in, they can surely guarantee a positive academic experience. The University is filled with incredible professors that are more than willing to impart their professional wisdom. The Drexel Co-op is Drexel's strongest selling point, and many students come here specifically for that program. Some can't wait to graduate and zip through their classes, concentrating more on their co-op, as they feel it gives them more valuable experience. This vocational approach of the student works against the joy of the college learning experience. Some students scoff at the idea of taking electives in other academic concentrations, which they might enjoy or which could make them a more well-rounded person.

The hurry to graduate is mostly because of the fact that co-ops usually require students to stay at Drexel for five years. Students load up on courses when they are in school, try just to pass them, and complete their programs as soon as possible. This does not need to be the case, and the students that realize this earlier on tend to be immensely happier than the aforementioned students. It's unfortunate that this facet of students at Drexel feels this rush, but most of the other students relish their college experience and the various benefits Drexel has to offer. Most students are thrilled they went to Drexel in the end. The co-op is an invaluable experience that puts students ahead in the job race after graduation (it also beats any menial college job).
