3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Some of the Fraternities are known to cause trouble but over all it's a very united group. Both the Fraternities and Sororities get along well and are always seen supporting each other.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Drexel safety is always available but aren't always the most vigilant. There's always people out and about so it's never deserted when you are out by yourself late at night.

5 College Sophomore

Local Area: That's always plenty to do in the city. With SEPTA it is easy to get around and see all Philadelphia has to offer.

Guys & Girls: I am engaged so I don't participate in the dating scene.

4 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: The gym is great with lots of equipment but it gets crowded.

2 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: The proximity is good but the quality of the rooms aren't great.

4 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: I didn't have any problems.

4 Recent Alumnus

Academics: There are lots of resources to help you succeed.

4 Recent Alumnus

Local Area: There are lots of activities going on in Philadelphia, with a wide range. There are also lots of free concerts. I enjoy Philly but I wouldn't settle down to raise a family here because the cost of living is more expensive then living in my home state, Texas.

4 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Dining: There are sooo many places to choose from ranging from food trucks to upscale restaurants. There are also many mom/pop restaurants.

4 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: I appreciate the escort services.

Administration: The administration on the Center City campus for Health professionals is very unorganized.

2 Recent Alumnus

Campus Quality: I am on the center city campus. The library is very small. The building is old and the furniture in the library is old and dirty.

Overall Experience: I am not sure because I have not graduated

4 College Freshman

Local Area: The Philadelphia is very nice. The cost of living is very reasonable, there's great food, people are generally nice, and there's a little bit of everything. Safety is the only real thing to complain about, but it's easy to learn where a person should and shouldn't wander to.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The housing quality is extremely poor, there isn't much of a "community" aspect to the buildings. You get way less than what you pay for.

4 College Student

Off-Campus Dining: Eating out is expensive, but good. I recommend the restaurants near Upenn.

Athletics: Drexel really isn't a sports school. However, there is a basketball team that is quite good, and the athletic facilities are quite good.

3 College Student

Greek Life: Greek life is regulated by the University. They can only hold parties once a month, so they don't hold events that often.

3 College Student

Party Scene: You can find a house party on Powelton every Friday, but frat parties are less frequent because the fraternities at Drexel are regulated heavily. The party scene isnt big since Drexel is an engineering school, but it's enough for those who are into partying.

4 College Student

Scholarships: I received a fairly modest scholarship covering 1/4th of my expenses, but after an appeal that explained how my family's financial situation has changed since then, the scholarship amount was raised to cover half of my expenses.

3 College Student

Administration: Drexel's administration is know for giving kids the "Drexel shaft". They usually fall behind handling financial aid matters, and maintenance is often weeks behind schedule. Regardless, the teachers and professors are quite helpful and will contact you promptly if an issue arises.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: A Drexel degree is worth more than gold compared to other colleges. The university prepares the students with academics that separate them from others. Also, students will graduate with hands-on training throughout the Cooperative program all the way through college.

The professors treat each student with a sense of urgency to learn and grasp all of the knowledge to be prepared for the near future

Drexel have many career and academic services and centers available from the freshman year to college graduates.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The professors take pride in teaching courses by using different methods, from lectures, online interaction, videos, and outside interest to grasp the information taught. the instruction is geared to give the best information to use in future academia and students professional lives.

Classes are offered at multiple times of the week, including Saturdays and online classes. the best quality is the small classes to allow the professors to cater to every student.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Campus housing is average to nearby colleges. The dorms are in great need of modernization. The construction of new dorms will create a variety of options and amenities then what is offered today. The location of the campus housing is very convenient to classes and labs. but, the housing is very expensive, causing multiple students to elect to live in off-campus housing.

Some students complain about the "Drexel Shaft" screwing up their scheduling or billing, or a poor professor. The truth is that students will find red tape headaches and unfortunate instructors at just about every university. As long as students are picky about the professors and classes they enroll in, they can surely guarantee a positive academic experience. The University is filled with incredible professors that are more than willing to impart their professional wisdom. The Drexel Co-op is Drexel's strongest selling point, and many students come here specifically for that program. Some can't wait to graduate and zip through their classes, concentrating more on their co-op, as they feel it gives them more valuable experience. This vocational approach of the student works against the joy of the college learning experience. Some students scoff at the idea of taking electives in other academic concentrations, which they might enjoy or which could make them a more well-rounded person.

The hurry to graduate is mostly because of the fact that co-ops usually require students to stay at Drexel for five years. Students load up on courses when they are in school, try just to pass them, and complete their programs as soon as possible. This does not need to be the case, and the students that realize this earlier on tend to be immensely happier than the aforementioned students. It's unfortunate that this facet of students at Drexel feels this rush, but most of the other students relish their college experience and the various benefits Drexel has to offer. Most students are thrilled they went to Drexel in the end. The co-op is an invaluable experience that puts students ahead in the job race after graduation (it also beats any menial college job).
