2 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Most of the people are lethargic, shallow, or just plain unintelligent. Many of the professors are knowledgeable, but all too often you'll be taught by a recent graduate who has never worked in the industry.

In addition, school spirit is next to non-existent. The campus is plain ugly -- absolutely no vegetation or green. I wouldn't recommend it.

Health & Safety: I typically feel very safe on campus. The public safety officers can sometimes be pretty creepy towards women.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The professors are hit or miss.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I think people value a degree from Drexel, especially when they see that you have experience as a result of co-op.

1 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It's SO expensive! Students are basically forced to live in off-campus housing

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Drexel's campus is pretty safe.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Most of my professors have been pretty good.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The degree value is amplified by the co-op experience.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Living on campus is convenient but costly.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life on Drexel's campus is pretty good.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: I don't pay any attention to college athletics.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: My overall experience at Drexel has been a positive one for the most part.

2 College Freshman

Athletics: Very few people are athletes at Drexel. The only "good "team is Drexel's girls basketball. All other sports for the varsity level are quite subpar. Drexel does not even have a football team. As for school spirit, Drexel is pretty Avid to show up and cheer at basketball games. A decent amount of people do intramural sports, but it is not an overwhelming population like at many schools

4 College Freshman

Athletics: The fact that they allow the students to go there for free and attend events there for free is quite awesome. Even if you aren't into the sports that they are playing, you always have fun going to games due to the mascot or the general spirit in the facilities. They are always bringing new and fun programs and events that promote good health.

Overall Experience: This school is really great when it comes to Co-op programs. You are almost guaranteed to get an internship during your school year or get a job after you graduate. They also are very helpful when it comes to the job searching process. Such as resume building and interview training. They also are very understanding when it comes to your financial situations. The only problem about the school would probably be the overall cost is quite tremendous despite the fact that they don't have as much advanced technology as other universities. Seems like most of the money goes to making nice law buildings rather than to engineering which is basically what the school is known for.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: We have our own police and emergency hotline. Despite how bad Philly can be campus is incredibly safe. You can tell when you go off campus and there's definitely a reason they tell us not to go past certain streets but on campus is extremely secure.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The professors are really great. They have experience in the field that they teach and -in the art program at least- professors are required to continue doing projects outside of teaching.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Because co-op is required we graduate with career experience and many people get offered jobs from their co-op employer.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: My floor in the dorm has become really close and the layout is pretty decent. I'm in a triple and we all still have space. However, maintenance isn't the best. We has leaky showers that leaked into the wall and it took them a while to start and then a long time to patch up the hole in the wall.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: I'm in a sorority and I really enjoy it. Greek life is pretty big but it is also low-key. There is a group for anybody on campus but it's not a big deal if you're not in an organization. There's usually something going on at Frat row whether it be a party or a fundraiser.

Athletics: Our wrestling and basketball teams are really good but they are the only varsity sports I have heard of. Intramurals are also really prevalent on campus.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love being at Drexel. The curriculum is very major based. Things move fast- sometimes too fast- but its understandable because the school runs on a ten week quarter system. Co-ops are mandatory which help students get some career experience. Also it is located in Philadelphia next to many other colleges giving students unlimited resources.

4 College Student

Diversity: The campus is extremely diverse and I have never witnessed a problem surrounding the issue of diversity.

5 College Student

Academics: I love the variety of classes and topics students can learn about. My major provides us with interesting topics to learn about which keeps me focused throughout the term.

Health & Safety: Drexel alerts notify us of crimes in the area and where to stay away from. Another great safety precaution is the campus safety who will escort you if you feel uncomfortable walking alone. I have never felt unsafe on my campus, even when I'm walking alone at night.

Some students complain about the "Drexel Shaft" screwing up their scheduling or billing, or a poor professor. The truth is that students will find red tape headaches and unfortunate instructors at just about every university. As long as students are picky about the professors and classes they enroll in, they can surely guarantee a positive academic experience. The University is filled with incredible professors that are more than willing to impart their professional wisdom. The Drexel Co-op is Drexel's strongest selling point, and many students come here specifically for that program. Some can't wait to graduate and zip through their classes, concentrating more on their co-op, as they feel it gives them more valuable experience. This vocational approach of the student works against the joy of the college learning experience. Some students scoff at the idea of taking electives in other academic concentrations, which they might enjoy or which could make them a more well-rounded person.

The hurry to graduate is mostly because of the fact that co-ops usually require students to stay at Drexel for five years. Students load up on courses when they are in school, try just to pass them, and complete their programs as soon as possible. This does not need to be the case, and the students that realize this earlier on tend to be immensely happier than the aforementioned students. It's unfortunate that this facet of students at Drexel feels this rush, but most of the other students relish their college experience and the various benefits Drexel has to offer. Most students are thrilled they went to Drexel in the end. The co-op is an invaluable experience that puts students ahead in the job race after graduation (it also beats any menial college job).
