Off-Campus Housing: You definitely will pay more for convenience and quality, but I think it is worth it with West Village.

Off-Campus Housing: Drake West Village monopolizes off-campus housing and tries to get the most students there. It is nice but pricey. Drake does not help students find options after sophomore year

Off-Campus Housing: There are apartments reserved for Drake students practically on campus, but I've heard they're expensive and not very different from just living in a dorm hall. The best options I've heard of are renting the houses near campus with a group of friends. The campus is still a short walk or bike ride away, and I know a number of students take advantage of this opportunity. It depends on how many people you live with and how lucky you get, but the rent can be reasonable or even cheaper than living on campus. Because Des Moines is a small city, parking in general isn't a big deal and I don't have much information on landlords, but safety is an issue right now as there have been several shootings and even an arson near campus within the last month and a half. Other than the apartments set aside for Drake students specifically, I don't think the school can help you out specifically in terms of living off campus.

Off-Campus Housing: Excellent choices within 2 block radius of the campus. Affordable and offers a meal plan through the colleege even if you live off campus
