With its location in a suburban neighborhood and its proximity to the city, Dominican University is in a prime spot for off-campus dining! There are countless sit-down and fast food restaurants in all directions. In the neighborhoods surrounding campus, there is Portillo's Hot Dogs, Jimmy John's, Wingstop, Jim & Pete's (a local Italian restaurant), and several Subway restaurants, as well as several places to get pizza and Chinese food. Pizza places (such as Amato's, Domino's, and Gepetto's), Chinese places, and Jimmy John's are great options for students who would rather order in.

Students can undoubtedly find something to fit their tastes and their budgets, whether it is a sit-down restaurant like Ruby Tuesday's or TGI Friday's, or a fast food restaurant like Arby's or McDonald's. Because the campus dining food is not always up to par, eating off campus is definitely a great idea. It is much easier to access these places, of course, if a student has a car; unfortunately, there are really no restaurants within walking distance from campus. For students who do not have a car, though, there is always the option of ordering in (many places around DU deliver). Taking the shuttle into Oak Park also provides students without cars access to many great places to eat!
