Weather: the weather in New Orleans,La is fairly well but you have to definitely be prepared fpr the Unknown the weather down south is very bi polar and you must be prepared at all times.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: I recieved a decent amount of financial aid but im in need of additional assistance. Im in the process of setting appointmenst with counselors to assist me in this matter!

3 College Junior

Technology: The Computers labs on campus are fairly well they are always well kept and nice and clean for the students to have Professional working areas. The only problem i would have to say is the supply of paper since Dillard University is a GO Green Campus we are now redcuong the amounts of paper we use daily around the University. the network abilities are okay some areas around campus could really use soime improved wifi connections.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: I haven't had an internship yet, as I haven't quite focused on it but I do intend to get one. Maybe this year will be the year I go for it. As long as I have some kind of plan, I think it'll be easier to go in for it. From what I have heard, it is kind of cool. The people who have brought it up to me speak highly of the internship they have had, so I am guessing it will be enjoyable for me as well.

Athletics: The team spirit here sucks big time. Our teams aren't very good, and after my first year, it became obvious that everyone was in a downward slump because we lack a good team to count on. This year I am hoping things will turn around for us. Hopefully, we can get to see our basketball team bring home some victories for us.

Diversity: As an HBCU, Dillard University doesn't have much of another race beside African American, but as of recently, individuals from minority race in comparison to our school are beginning to come.

Scholarships: It can be a real pain when it comes to financial pain when you are struggling to get questions answered, paperwork completed, and are looking for one on one attention. The best advice I can offer to anyone who comes to my school is have all of your work done, copies made out, and know what exactly you are coming in for. That way you can try to avoid the hassle that financial aid brings.

Technology: Using computers at my school can have it's good days, and bad days too. The library isn't always the best place to go when you want to study, but it can also be a good place to go when you are looking for something to do. Whether it be to study, find friends, or even talk, and hold large conversations, it can be that place on campus. Other times, I find it to be a hassle that we have to pay for printing when we have already paid for technology fees in our tuition. Then again, I try not to complain too much because the bright side is we aren't the only ones paying for printing and use of the computers. Still, there are many places on campus for one to use a computer, so I rarely find myself sitting without one in front of me.

Technology: No Problems – Labs are always open to students with very up to date software and technology. During Midterms and Finals things get hectic, but all students are well accommodated.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Safe as Can Be – My university is very concerned with our health and well being. The on campus facilitcies since the Hurricane Issac have been well renivated and cleaned. Im am proud of the way my university handled such manners!

Guys & Girls: At Dillard University, you find the finest in classy sophisticated young African American ladies in the country. My Dillard women are the definition of the words beautiful and classy. They show the upmost respect to not only others but themselves. Which i believe is lacking in many women in our society today!

Drug Safety: Now You See It – Many students openly discuss their usage around campus. Although, it is not done out in the open, a non-drug or alcohol user would easily be able to locate where he or she could get drugs and alcohol from.

4 College Junior

Administration: How It Works – The security always looks for ID and/or parking decals when students arrive on campus. I like that they put in effort to protect the students.

2 College Junior

Drug Safety: Being Under Pressure – It really depends on if you are under pressure or just like to do it just to get by in the day. No one is stopping you from drinking it or from buying it. It honestly is on a matter of self control.

4 College Junior

Campus Food: Timing for Dining – There is no best time to pick when to eat breakfast, kunch or dinner. Depending on your classtime, is when it depends on if you will eat. When making your schedule, make sure you have at lease 30 minutes to eat. Breakfast is from 7-9 A.M., lunch is from 11 A.M-1 P.M and dinner is from 5-7 P.M.

Administration: Students Are Punished Accordingly – I like to think of Dillard University as a very strict, conservative institution. It's pretty much a dry campus and it's very family oriented. The DU police department is known to be strict about drinking and drug use. First-time offenders get a letters sent home along with a judicial hearing on the campus and the danger of losing their housing. It's pretty serious if you get caught.

5 College Senior

Majors: Mass Communications – The process of getting into my mass communications major was relatively easy. I didn't have to do a special application process when applying to the school. I was a transfer, so I literally declared my major and then enrolled in the courses related to my field and submitted the documents to my advisor.

5 College Senior

Majors: Sales and Marketing Internship – As a mass communications major and marketing minor, the internship was one of the greatness learning oppurntunities I've ever capitilized on. The interns were unpaid, but the time and commitment was just as rigorous as a regularly paid associate. My responsibilties included everything from answering phone to setting up radio remotes at several locations.

Overall Experience: How College Should Be – i think this college fits me best... its big but not overly large, fun but at the same time requires work in order for you to have any type of fun, nice people who are willing to lend a helping hand and lastly the staff who are the most nicest and helpful people who can possibly ask for.. i love it!

4 College Freshman

Local Area: Fun at Its Best – outgoing people, who are very involved in the projects that they assign us and pushes us to do bettter on our campus and to be nice and kind to the people that are around us daily such as neighbors, room mates and town friends. just a overall great opprotunity.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: its good for outside activities but other than that we dont really use them.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: Positive Atmosphere – The campus is very calm and relaxing. The interactions of the students creates a fun envionment and a great campus life. There aren't too much to do, but just being involved at the functions makes it worth your while.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Every single place you choose to go to in New Orleans off-campus, you will enjoy! You will never be disappointed. It's always reasonable prices and very fresh. You don't have to drive miles to find somewhere. There are places nearly on every corner.

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There are a few good apartments, but the pricing is a little too high. The ones that are in a ok price range may be a little too far from campus or he quality isn't that great. You'll always be able to find one, though.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Somewhat Worth It – The food is excellent no doubt, however, after a while you get tired of eating some of the same things. There are a variety of places to eat off campus, but if you want or need something quick and nurishing, the dining hall offers great food.
