Drug Safety

{{ error }}
3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Most students drink but there is a significant amount of people who don't; and nobody really cares if you do or not. It will only affect your social life if you let it. Drugs are there if you pursue them. The most popular drug is weed but nobody is going to force you to do anything. If you pursue drugs, the drug scene will seem fairly big but if you don't pursue it, it will be barely noticeable. Study drugs are also really common. Cocaine and LSD can be found if you really want them.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Not to many hardcore drugs on campus but there is a surprising amount of coke.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: You really only notice if you're looking for people on drugs. Many of my friends weren't even aware of the drug problems on campus.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: Hard drugs are used, but not forced upon people, and for the most part, people stick to alcohol. Hard drugs and weed will involve a much stricter enforcement policy, whereas alcohol is more carefully observed for safety reasons.

2 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I have seen students drink but that seems to be normal at any other college setting. I usually keep my distance.

Drugs at Dickinson, like everywhere else, are available to those who are trying to find them. Marijuana, prescription painkillers, stimulants, and cocaine can be found. There are certain social groups with whom they are more prevalent than others, but for the most part, they are not a highly visible threat to students who choose not to use them. The average Dickinson student is not a habitual user of any drug.

The perception of the drug scene among Dickinson students varies widely. For those who are involved in drug use, it seems to be everywhere; those who don’t use tend not to see it happening very often. There are kids who go through their entire four years with no drug-related encounters, while there are also those who see them every day. Overall, like at most other schools, it depends on the social groups a student chooses to be part of.
