3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: When choosing class schedules it is very convenient since there is plenty of classes to choose from when finding a course.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Some classes have small workloads while others have a lot. It's easy to use D2L after a couple times of logging in. Some professors consistently interact with students professionally while others do not. I have not interacted with a student online yet.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The quality of courses I would say are average. Some teachers know how to properly educate the students but a few just give the course material without much lecture. Professors though always try to help out and are willing to offer some of their time so that you may succeed in their class. Class sizes are a good amount I believe. I have not been in a very large class yet.

Academic Experience: I enjoy the online classes due to its convenience. it is also very simple because a guide is given to the students to navigate through the web site. Since my major is Computer Information Systems I am thankful that the online classes force us to use our computers to become more familiar with the technology.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The campus is clean and well maintained. Counselors are helpful making it easy for you to choose your classes for the upcoming semester. Staff and workers portray good vibes when confronted with students who are in need of help .

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Not enough classes but it's good.

4 College Junior

Career Services: Never really interect witht them, but the job in campus are rare.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: It's super important to chose the right perfessors. Many of them don't care about your futuress and doesn't care about you.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: People here are all for transfering, and it's good.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: There are not a lot of real valueable things.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Most classes I've wanted to take or need to take have been accessible or available, and there are options for different time periods of the classes I've taken so I can choose which to take depending on my personal/work schedule. Not all classes have been this easy though, especially during Spring and Summer semesters.

Online Courses: I've had 2 online courses and dropped both, and never completed 1 of them. Both demanded a lot more time on the computer than the amount of time you use in a on campus class. I work 5 days a week and did not have the time to do all the coursework required online because I did not have access to a computer that often.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: A handful of classes I've taken have great professors, one Math professor Mrs. Green went above and beyond in helping students individually, that I took her next class because of her dedication and hard work helped me improve my math skills dramatically. I've had better experiences with English and Math professors.

2 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I haven't had many instances with the job/internships on campus, but there aren't that many. Once in a while I learn about a job fair, but not often enough.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Personally haven't had best experience others had, many others further along and more experienced. No internships or job opportunities available through the college with the amount of credits I've completed.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Impacted with students, but a few GREAT professors

Academic Flexibility: When I first started the culinary program I was working 3 part time jobs and went to school full time, while maintaining my social life. This continued on for the whole 3 years and I was very happy with the flexibility of both the classes and my jobs.

Career Services: I absolutely love Dr. Cheryl Carter. She is the counselor for culinary students and has seen her fair share of me. I am always asking her questions and in her office talking about what to do next to pursue my career and education. She is very helpful and kind to answer my often repeated questions.

Overall Experience: Class sizes are small and for good reason. Have you ever heard of too many cooks in a kitchen? Let me tell you, it is a VERY real thing. Lecture classes are larger, some close to 35 or 40 but still manageable. The lecture instructions are knowledgeable on what they teach and the the Chefs are great at what they do as well. Everyone has experience in the industry which, I love and some even attended DVC themselves. They will invest in you and your education if they see you are willing to do the same.

Overall Experience: The connections we built with each other as classmates has continued into our daily lives. People are always posting new job positions or internship opportunities, which is great. Everyone is very willing to help each other succeed and cheers each other on when we do well. There are job fairs on campus which are nice and there are other opportunities where the instructors bring in professionals in the industry to tell us about job opportunities as well.

Overall Experience: Like everything, what you put into your education is what you will get out. I spent 4 years here, attending and completing the culinary program and then getting my AS degree. I was in early and stayed late. There are some people who go and just drift through the program and classes. The teachers are great and will invest in you if they see you are eager to learn and take your work seriously.

3 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: Its pretty challenging to register for classes since they fill up so quickly.

2 College Freshman

Online Courses: Sometimes the site would erase what's already been inputted into the grading system. Its difficult to track your progress unless you keep every single assignment and exam taken.

3 College Freshman

Career Services: I'm not sure what to say here.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Depending on the course I found that certain professors were interested and passionate about what they were teaching and always were enthused to see thier students. California history was one of the more interesting classes that I've taken along with Statistics. However, the teaching style of my stats professor doesn't really benefit the way I learn and I often find that its more useful and efficient to go over what I don't understand by myself, reworking math problems that I got incorrect and finding online tutorials to further my learning.
