Local Area: Chicago is the best city in the world,, aside for the cold winters.. if you dont mind the cold winters, the harsh winds and the snow then this place will be heaven/home.

Local Area: Lincoln Park campus is a great location because of the surrounding area(s) especially because the trains and buses are super handy from getting from place to place. Also the gym is located conveniently. That's important. For those who like shopping, the Belmont stop is nice because it also has a good selection of eateries. Downtown campus is even better because of the museums, places to eat, shopping, House of Blues, and just the wide variety of things to do. What's great about Downtown campus is that there are other colleges around so you get to run into new kids.

The local atmosphere of DePaul is truly unparallel to that of any other university in the city. Lincoln Park is the neighborhood to reside in if you’re a college student or young 20-something, and DePaul’s campus is in the center of it all. Local businesses—bars, restaurants, bookstores, movie theaters—are populated primarily by DePaul students or recent graduates who haven’t been able to drag themselves away. For the most part, these businesses cater to the wants and needs of the college students in the area and seem generally glad to have students around. There are often deals and discounts to be had in a number the bars and restaurants surrounding campus if you show your DePaul student ID.

Students are never left hungry for entertainment with the many different venues for recreation and activities. Vendors even come right onto campus to offer deals and discounts to events all over the city. There is definitely something fun and different to do every night for students who are able to balance their academic load with their social life. Plus, a huge bonus is that if you ever grow bored of the Lincoln Park atmosphere—which is pretty unlikely—there are tons of other neighborhoods to explore in the city, all of which are very different from Lincoln Park. After all, this is Chicago. Overall, students at DePaul have access to the college-town atmosphere of Lincoln Park, the fast-paced environment of downtown, the relaxing, vacation-esque feel of Lake Michigan’s beach, and a lot more—all at their fingertips.
