Majors: As a business management major, I am extremely happy with my classes. I enjoy the classes I'm taking and feel like the teacher's I've had have been well equipped to teach and interesting to listen to. I still have halfway to go, but I know of friends in the upper-level courses currently who enjoy their teachers and find their classes interesting. One day, I will open up my own clothing boutique complete with shoes, jewelry, and clothing. Fashion is a big passion of mine. If I could minor in Fashion Merchandising, I would do that in a heartbeat. That's the only thing that's slightly disappointing. However, I do know that people who graduate from DBU seem to have incredible success in whatever major they are in. I am not worried about my future career. I think I will be well taken care of because DBU faculty and staff are highly respected in Dallas.

Transportation: The school is small but has an amazing transportation system and it is free! The shuttle has a stop at plenty of spots on campus and comes in 15 minute cycles.

Technology: Incredible! For graphic design majors, there is a mac lab making it easy for students with my major to access.

Drug Safety: I have seen one person smoking weed on campus but other than that I have not seen any other drug taking on campus

Diversity: There are many international students at DBU but that is the only diversity.

Health & Safety: There are rarely any crimes at DBU. Security is always driving around and checking IDS when visitors come to campus. After 11 toward curfew security gives visitors 10 minutes before they would have to leave the campus or they will have to find the visitor. DBU has poles that have an emergency security call just in case. But most likely you will see security around.

Weather: When it is cold out, since DBU is on a hill, it gets pretty chilly. Being on a hill affects your campus experience a lot. When it snows or rains, it gets a little scary having to drive/walk down/up the hill. Many times though the weather is great especially at night where you want to walk around campus.

Campus Housing: The dorms at DBU have a lot more rules whereas the apt. and townhomes etc have a bit of more freedom to it where you get the experience of growing up. Financial aid can cover dorms but when living at the apts or townhomes you have to pay monthly. Living on campus gives you an opportunity to meet others who live around you. At the same token it may not be the same atmosphere that you are used to. Some nights people will be loud in the halls or outside their homes, some nights you'll be the only one in your dorm because everyone's out. Crowley was the dorm I lived in, many preferred living in Spence since it did not have a community restroom.

Guys & Girls: The females at DBU are very well dressed. Most girls look very sharp on a daily basis. They are always very willing to help out. Their friendliness is over the top. The same goes to the males at the campus. Opening doors for others is something I definitely noticed since the beginning. From both genders I have not heard inappropriate words. A lot of smiles are easily spotted on the faces of the females and males on this campus. Christ shines through many of the students and His word is being integrated to their conversations an\amongst each other.

Campus Food: The cafe is ok. For the price of it, it is a good deal. There is also the Patriot Cafe which is really good. We also have a new coffee shop and a soda shop that are very good. There is also a small general store that is open till midnight. You can use your Patriot Bucks at all these places.

Majors: The education in the College of Business is very good. There are a lot of very good professors, all of which are strong Christians. This is only my second semester here but the workload is not too much. I have not looked into internships but I know that DBU has an office set up to do just that.

Majors: I'm in my last year as an Early Childhood Education major. I'm also seeking minor in Spanish. Throughout my time at DBU, I have been wonderfully prepared. I have spent so much time in actual classrooms obeserving teachers, tutoring, and student teaching, if I were to get a teaching job now I would feel very prepared. All of my professors have taught many years in schools before and pass down their knowledge and experiences to us. They have all been extremely encouraging in pursuing out teaching dreams while they make sure we are very successful in every step of the certification and graduation process.

Athletics: DBU's men's baseball team is our pride and joy. They have had outstanding success over the years. Our women's volleyball team and men's basketball team have also been highly ranked. Other Varsity sports offered include men's (new addition as of Fall 2012) and women's soccer, tennis, cross country, hockey, and swim. Our workout facilities have recieved some improvements over the years adding newer equipment and an increase in workout space. Intramural sports are treated by the student body almost as big as our varsity sports. Many people get involved in intramural for some clean competition while great friendships and relationships are built.

Technology: Each semesters, every student gets a limited number of pages - somewhere close to 500, I believe - to print off in the computer lab at no charge! So much money on paper and ink are saved in your wallet. The computers have all the latest software to help improve the quality of your work. However, the computers could be made to start up just a little bit faster. The computer lab is a great place to get lots of studying and/or computer work done. Wireless access is available all over campus, but at times it can slow down as most wi-fi locations can at times.

Local Area: DFW metroplex has so much to offer and DBU is in the heart of it! Sports fans can enjoy the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Frisco Roughriders, and Dallas Stars. Awesome attractions include Six Flags Over Texas and Hurricane Harbor. UTA, TCU, & SMU are just down the way from us, offereing excellent rivalries. There are thousands of diverse foods to try, and all in very close proximity. Downtown Dallas' West End is great to visit, as well as The Arts District, Up Town, and Sundance Square in Fort Worth. Dallas is such an amazing city to live in! There's always something new to try.

Off-Campus Housing: DBU is located outside of Dallas, so it is very secluded from Dallas. There really is not any off-campus housing near by that I would ever suggest. I would not recommend anyone to live off campus. It would be a drive (and no one wants to deal with Dallas traffic).

Campus Housing: Both boys dorms and one of the girls dorms is the original dorm. So while it might be really old, DBU does an excellent job keeping them looking sharp. When you submit a maintenance request, they are very quick to respond. The on-campus apartments and Townhomes are great though! They are much newer and are very well kept. They try to keep them looking clean on the outside, and they spend a good amount of time making sure the inside (appliances and floors/walls) look great.

Overall Experience: DBU has done a great job at preparing me for life. The student and teacher ratio is very good. I have benefitted the most from my professors. They truly care about your grades and about you personally. They will take time to meet with you to, even for the "stupid" questions you might have. The staff is great. They have shaped me and have helped me find success in school.

Technology: The computer lab is nice (along with the Apple lab), but the internet and network is very unreliable.

5 College Junior

Athletics: Baseball .. my ooh my are they good lookin! Every guy that I've checked out on campus has been a baseball player. My roomates now make fun of me.

Majors: Ministry, Music, & Education – My Major, Kinesiology, was easy to get into as it is not a mainline Major like the ones listed above.

3 College Junior

Campus Quality: Smaller Than I Thought – I love this school, but I wish the Athletic Department was more established. They are, thankfully, renovating and expanding the gym for athletes.

5 College Junior

Majors: Kinesiology for Education – My friend's last semester of senior year consists of working full-time at an elementary school for internship. She absolutely loves it. I hope I get to work at a Physical Therapy office all Senior year :)

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Eh...It's Alright – Aside from Uptown Dallas, everything near Arlington and Grand-Prairie is average. Galleria and Uptown is fancy and fun.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: Apply for the CLS Scholarship!!! Christian Leadership Scholarship is something that is suggested to all students. It covers from 10% to +40% of tuition. They also have a church matching scholarship if you were involved in your local church.
