Health & Safety: Throughout my time at Dakota Wesleyan University, I have seen sicknesses come through the dorms, and have even seen death visit the dorms. However, it is of paramount importance to point out how these unavoidable things were dealt with. They were dealt with professionalism and speed. Campus security is tight as to provide safety but not so tight as to restrict your lifestyle. The police are always ready to come and take care of a situation if the need be, but in the end, it's not needed because the community of the college regulates itself.

Overall Experience: The classes which are offered by the school encourage a sense of adventure! They challenge you to try new things and to explore new avenues of yourself. There is such a variety that you can take classes that are all in your specialty field and yet still cover most of your Gen-Eds. The professors are there for you. They don't grade down in you disagree with them and they are willing to be flexible with how the class learns and completes projects.

Overall Experience: Dakota Wesleyan University has a placement rate for its students into real-world jobs that's in the 90th percentile. It is almost guaranteed that when you graduate you will find a job. But then you will also be part of a huge network of alumni which talk and get back together frequently. You truly never leave the DWU family.

Campus Housing: Although the buildings are not all the newest, they have been maintained nicely and provide - surprisingly - nice living quarters. The housing helps to cultivate togetherness among the residences of the halls and helps to make a family out of them. Campus Housing also forces you to learn how to deal with others and how to get through trying situations.

Greek Life: Greek life is truly non-existent at Dakota Wesleyan University, but that is somewhat a good thing. Although once a part of the campus, Greek Life's absence has lead to a new unity in the school and has helped bring the students together as a single, equal student body.

Athletics: Athletics is an important part of the Student Body of Dakota Wesleyan University and the school has responded to that. A great multitude of sports are offered to students and brand new facilities are being opened for the betterment of the teams and of the students. What is even better is that Athletics does not dominate the entire school. Most activities are viewed in the same light and generate similar attendances.

Overall Experience: Dakota Wesleyan University is one of the finest small schools in the nation. It provides ample opportunities to explore and grow in your major and provides assistance to make sure that you have the tools to succeed in your field. The staff are ready to be there for you and help you through the college experience. If you have questions, they are eager to help answer them. The Student Life and Activities Board both work tirelessly to make sure that the students are looked after and that they have opportunities to grow and develop friendships. Best of all, DWU has the air of a Christian School. You will not find a school more devoted to the Christian Faith and to the Church.

Overall Experience: DWU has turned out to be a great fit for me.

Overall Experience: Getting the money needed for tuition is very hard and an extreme headache. The food is awful, the area is dull, and if I hadn't have met some amazing people, I would have transferred a long time ago.

Off-Campus Dining: Large variety in different places to eat, with ranging price. My biggest complaint is the limited late night options.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Some sports are better than others. The community is huge supporter of basketball and football. The school sport teams do a great job at cheering on other sports.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Its your average dorm size, love the fact it has AC and heating.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: They have quality financial aid, I didn't apply soon enough so missed out on the good scholarships.

4 College Freshman

Majors: The quality of internships really depend on the major you have. There are great athletic training, nursing, psychology and Christian leadership. A few years ago the school really began developing its internship program so in the next few years they should all be at the same level. Some are more time consuming than others, but none I have heard about at least have been extremely difficult.

Academics: I am a psychology major. The program as a Freudian emphasis but fairly represents other psychology perspectives. One teacher is amazing. The teacher will bring the best out of you if you apply yourself to the assignments. The other teacher is mediocre. He does a good enough job at teaching the material, but he won't push you beyond your current level to grow as a student. Also, if you aren't a boy and/or athlete you will never spark a connection or bond. If you are interested in clinical psychology this is a great school. In the Mitchell area there are places you can get internships and jobs at places that aid with drug abuse, alcohol abuse, sexual abuse and special ed programs.

Local Area: Coming from a bigger city transitioning to a small town life was hard. The limited hours of shops and food places was a shock. There are also perks to the small town life though, the community is very friendly and welcoming. You will see people from the community at most of the sporting events.

Parking: there is plenty of parking within a short distance of the school.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Entry into the Education program is difficult, but not impossible. They are looking for motivated, capable students, because these students will be responsible for the education of the next generation. It is a huge responsibility.
