3 College Senior

Technology: The computer lab only has about 3 computers and they are always full.

4 College Senior

Technology: It's better now than last semester. Before, if you rate professors, you get printing money. Now, you can print all you want on the 2nd floor of the library. (I think this will only be temporary though!)

4 College Junior

Technology: There are multiple computer labs available on campus and just recently printing became free in the library.

3 College Sophomore

Technology: Sometimes the wifi is kind of bad but otherwise computers are very accessible.

3 College Student

Technology: They are ok, but when it's final time or around a certain time, they can be packed and hard to find a seat. Better to bring your own laptop to finish your assignments . Also the printing is not free; you need to pay at least a dollar for each print which you place in the card.

Almost every building on campus has computers, but there are three primary areas on campus where several computers are available for student use: Powdermaker Hall, the I Building, and the library. Several buildings provide both Macs and PCs, and the three areas mentioned tend to get crowded particularly during lunch hour and finals week. There are also computers available in the honors building, restricted for students in the program. Students may take out laptops for daily use from the library. Overall, Internet access seems to work at a sufficient speed, but will occasionally get backed up when it overloads with documents and files saved by students.

Now that QC has on-campus housing, students theorize that the system has yet to be upgraded to allow on-campus students access to Wi-Fi at all times. The Internet occasionally gets disconnected, more often in classes than in the residence hall. It is highly recommended that students bring laptops to campus if they don't want to worry about the usage of computers in general, particularly during the busy periods of finals and midterms. All students receive a bonus of $10 on their QC student card for printing at the beginning of each semester, and students can refill their cards from machines provided throughout campus. Visitors can buy printing cards from these machines, as well.
