Academic Flexibility: My experience with reorganizing my schedule constantly because the options were limited was a hassle

2 College Senior

Overall Experience: It's hard to know what's the best way to succeed or get what you need. My first year it took me a week to get everything in order. I was told multiple things and still didn't have the answer. My second semester without notice the system changed and all they could say was " oh wells." Financial Aid office was a nightmare filled with angry desk attendants. Then when I was no longer eligible, the Bursars office became my new enemy. Running back in forth for limited courses that mostly get filled up because there aren't enough options as well as no administrator understanding the system.

Overall Experience: The internships, ask for too much, especially if you already have a workload and job. The career recruiters do not seem so excited about their own jobs, so why should we.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: The professors in my program are usually great. They seem to understand the topics they are teaching and have a passion for the class. There are plenty of options to choose from class wise and there are tutor options

2 College Senior

Academic Experience: The registration is horrible. Sometimes the system locks you out and you have to head to the school. Then spend the day there getting the run around because someone isn't sure what to do or how to fix your problem.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The most unique thing about my school is the diversity within students as well as faculty.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: My school has a wide range of academic programs to choose from. The registration process if fairly easy and they are places on campus where I can go if I ever need help with anything.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The workload isn't too tough. The professors are always willing to help if we, the students, are willing to go the extra mile for the help.

2 College Senior

Overall Experience: When it comes to professors I've had my share of the rotten bunch. Mostly the ones who don't care to teach, care too much and get too personal without teaching the topic, and those who barely show. The best thing that has helped me is ratemyprofessor.com, better weigh my options when enrolling. On the other hand the class sizes for some courses are ridiculous you have a school of thousands, but only two courses that hold 20, why?! Some courses aren't even offered in the Fall this year like Geology which was disappointing to me.

Online Courses: I loved the online experience! The ability to monitor my work was amazing as well as the feedback from students and professor.

4 College Senior

Student Body: I've seen some of clubs and participation, however, because of the time I have no been able to join in the fun. Even so the diversity is high and so is the energy.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The first year of attending BMCC the financial department is unorganized. I had to go to three different places just to get an answer. Tuition is a nightmare sometimes with extra ridiculous fees added to your account that you can barely afford

3 College Senior

Career Services: The career centers gives plenty of options of jobs for their students full/part time.

2 College Senior

Campus Resources: The systems are down at least once a week. Campus activities do seem interesting, however most of them conflict with your school schedule time, wish there were more options. The staff is horrible! I usually have to take the whole day off in advance because I get the run around since no none is sure what they're doing.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Scheduling classes was pretty easy. My school has a wide variety of courses to choose from which makes it easier to have a more flexible schedule.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The professors at my school are very good at managing a class while getting to know every student on a somewhat personal level. They all make sure we know that we can come to them for any help we may need, regardless of class size.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The career center on campus is great. Everyone is very helpful and very determined to help us in any way possible.

4 College Sophomore

Student Body: The student body at my school is very diverse and that's what I like most about it. I've come across so many people of different ethnicities, heritages, cultural backgrounds, etc. It helps me keep an open mind about the world we live in today.

3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid process is the most frustrating thing about college for me. I'm a student who is considered to be"financially stable" enough to where I wouldn't receive any student aid to help pay for my tuition. I've filed for financial aid to only be denied and end up paying tuition out of pocket, with out loans. I do feel like I'm getting my money's worth, but it would be a lot less stressful with some financial help.

4 College Sophomore

Career Services: My school has many different post-grad services. The career center helps students who are seeking work find and apply for different opportunities, such as internships, work study, etc.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The campus services are very reliable. Everyone is always available to help and I never feel intimidated to seek help.

2 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I'm an international student, so I feel like I'm not getting my money worth.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: I had a few really interesting professors, and some not so interesting. Class registration is easy but it's a pain.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: I love my major and enjoy my classes. I have great opportunities.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: There are a variety of classes to chose from and special programs to chose from.

In reality, there are many ways to approaching college life; college is what you make of it. When you walk into BMCC for the first time, you'll probably notice the huge amount of unique people on campus. Many students come from foreign countries and have goals and aspirations that differ from yours. However, these people will be your peers. Fitting in may seem cliché when you see the diversity on campus, but everyone meshes because being different is OK. People on campus are friendly and generally interested in networking outside of their usual crowd, so making new friends isn't difficult. There are many social clubs and activities to keep you interested, and having leadership positions in these organizations is a great resumé booster. During your time at BMCC, you'll grow and learn from classmates.

Aside from the great environment, BMCC offers a lot to its students. Organized outings to Broadway shows like "The Lion King" and "Phantom of the Opera" help students expand their horizons. Tickets to the Yankee's games or New York football teams will excite sports fanatics. And for students who need to relax, the school offers a spa day to help you de-stress.
