Party Scene

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: I don't attend alcohol related parties. I joined a swing dance club this year and I have many study groups.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: I mean okay that it doesn't affect my ability to study on campus or in my dorm. I don't know about prevalence of parties - I don't attend them.

5 College Freshman

Party Scene: You can find a party anywhere, just ask around

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: I'm not really a part of the party scene. I think for the most part Hallet and Erickson are the party dorms.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: The truth is, it is college, so there are parties, but if you don't want to be involved with them you don't have to be. Usually though, just walk around East or through the houses around campus on the weekends and you are sure to find something.

Concordia is not known for extravagant or raging parties. None of these happens on campus, and the only options for underage students are house parties, which are minute in numbers. The "party scene" is like some sort of joke at this school, and it doesn’t even seem like something that could be in any way affiliated with Concordia College. There are some parties—it is college, after all—but they are only at select houses off campus, and you usually need to know someone in order to receive an invite. At these parties, anything goes, no matter what age you are.

There are very few bars or clubs in the area, and the prices at such places are only decent. There are a few bars—seriously, a few—that students of legal age can go to for drinking. The club scene doesn’t exist in a town like Moorhead, and it doesn’t seem to be missed by the majority of students. Concordia is simply not much of a party school. The focus for its students is primarily academics and having a healthy social life.
