Academic Experience: My major right now in lpn and it's a really good program

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: They have tons of programs

Academic Experience: perfect transfer program for me

3 College Student

Online Courses: decent, online classes arent for me

3 College Freshman

Online Courses: I feel as if the workload is more than an in class workload. Some teachers may think that this is the only class that you are doing so they load you up on homework. The relationships I have had with my teacher and classmates have all been average and what I would have expected.

3 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: The only reason that this school has been convenient is because of the availability of online classes to choose from.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I have had more bad experiences with this school than I have good but I am keeping an open and optimistic mind throughout the remainder of my time here.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: My online professor did not understand that I had a life outside of her class. My in class instructor was much more respectful of my life outside of my class work and had excused me for issues beyond my control.

2 College Freshman

Overall Experience: In my eyes I feel as if an employer sees that a student graduated from this college they do not even give them the time of day since it is just a community college.

3 College Freshman

Student Body: Most of the students at my school are older men or women looking for an education or someone just getting out of high school not knowing what to do with their life.

3 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: From what I have experienced I feel as the education is just mediocre as opposed to the surrounding schools and their education system.

5 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I want more than anything to be a special education, or a standard teacher. I feel the skills I am learning from this are going to benefit me for many years to come.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I feel as if the professors could be more caring towards students. The advisors have been more than helpful during my process into getting back into school

3 College Freshman

Campus Resources: When I first applied at the school and took my tour my mother and I felt very out of place. Living in a different state and not going to the campus now is very different.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: The flexibility is what I like best. I can pick and choose and won't have any conflicts. The previous school I attended was different because it was an hour away from my house and it caused problems like gas. The transferring of credits was tiring, but was worth it.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The affordability is what make me smile. The other school I attended was quite expensive, but this school made me think that there is still hope. The people are nice and caring and I wouldn't trade that.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The classes I have done so far are good. There have been two professors who were not quite the best and were confusing. Overall, I give an A- towards the professors and the courses. One thing I would let anyone know is that before you start scheduling and choosing courses for the next semester, go to At that website, you can type in any professor's name and see the grade given by students to let you know whether you should chose that professor or stay away from. So be wise when it comes to professor choosing, be driven in any course you're doing, make friends in any class you're in so they can help in some homework cases or form study groups. and have fun.

Overall Experience: The overall experience at CSCC is good. There's not much to say about the internship prospects, but job wise there are workshops to help students to get a job from writing a resume to have good recommendations.

Online Courses: When it comes to the online courses they are pretty convenient. Honestly, I prefer online courses than face to face interactions because I can create my own schedule and can work on a homework weeks before its due date. The certain courses I have done online so far was Psychology, European History to 1648, and Math 1050. The Psychology course I did was great. The professor I had made sure I did well in her class and the student interaction was also great. The European History to 1648 course I did was a different story. I love history, but the professor's grading towards essays was harsh, the professor herself wanted to see me succeed. She would also communicate clearly online and also checked to see what was the problem when it come to writing the essays pertaining to her class. Unfortunately, I would have to repeat that class, but would choose the same professor for her caring attitude towards her students. The Math 1050 course I did, the syllabus typed up was confusing and the professor herself was confusing. I wouldn't recommend a fellow CSCC student to do a math course online unless you are comfortable with it. I would prefer to do math face to face.

Student Body: The interaction in the school is great. So far, most of the people I have interacted with mostly are doing the same major I am doing so its cool to have friends who have the same interest and view as you. Even in my first year at CS, some of my friends in my Chemistry class decided we should all go hang out at the movies.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid is pretty straightforward on how to keep it. It is very crucial to not fall below the SAP requirements in order to keep your aid. At this school, the gpa required to keep your aid is 2.00, but some students first start out at CS with a 3.5 or 4.0 and then the next semester might receive a lower gpa. Those students still keep their aid because all depends on how many credit hours you have completed and how high the gpa was from the start. So its best when starting and going to this school to have a higher gpa. The higher the better, the lower, you have to pay out of pocket or get help from a third party.

Career Services: I don't really know much of the career center besides if you qualify for financial aid there's a chance you can do work-study so it'll be able to help you pay for the necessities you need.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Due to two classes I did at OSU I had to repeat to improve my grade at CSCC. You need to do the easy classes first before taking on the hard courses. So I would say do a mixture of both if you can. Plus you don't get to have your own personal advisor until you enter the program of your choice.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The professors I had were quite easygoing and friendly. Some of the students complained about some of the homework they would give them, but what they failed to realize is that college is not the same like high school where you can try and talk your way out of homework and push certain due dates back. The registration process is fairly easy, but if you have transferred from another college and trying to send your transcripts to CSCC, it will take time for them to receive all your credits. Noticing the programs that stand out the most in my opinion is nursing, engineering, teacher, business, art, and medical researcher.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: From financial aid to admission and scheduling, the resources at Columbus State Community College is good. Plus the cost towards admission and tuition is affordable, but still pricey sometimes.
