Drug Safety

Drug Safety: The survey they made us do every year on alcohol abuse was completely bogus. Despite being a "dry campus," alcohol was rampant in the dorms, parties were abound, and I have no doubt that weed was being smoked on at least every floor.

Drug Safety: There's not a huge drug problem, but there are talks about drugs, but it's hardly an issue. There are mostly talks about marijuana and cigarettes. Alcohol is more talked about and visible since most dorms allow alcohol once you are of age. Whether or not if it's alcohol or drugs, no one is truly pressured into trying either one of them, which is an amazing aspect of my college. Policies are no drugs in the dorms and for Columbia, it is not allowed for students to bring alcohol into the dorms.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: no one on campus really even drinks

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: if you do drugs, then it's good. if not, I mean, it's art school so everyone smokes pot. no one will make you & it's okay if you don't, but you have to get used to being around that & alcohol a lot.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: It is really safe here at columbia... never had problems

Columbia is a very liberal school, and with being liberal comes some liberal behavior. There are many artists, free-spirits, and hipsters that attend Columbia. There is also a pretty hefty amount of students who smoke marijuana. Columbia's drug scene is just like any other college in America. You'll find as many kids who aren't into drugs as you will who are. It just depends on who you hang out with.
