Academic Flexibility: Although being at an online school has forced me to have a lot of self discipline, I definitely think that it was the best choice for my busy schedule. I am a stay-at-home mom and my free time depends very strongly on naptime, bedtime and babysitters. When babysitters aren't available, being able to do my school from my living room while the kids nap is very efficient.

Overall Experience: For the most part, I have been very happy with my experience with the school. Any issues that I addressed with the school were responded too very quickly and to the best of their ability, and their willingness to work with me and keep track of my progress has been great.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Although I have had a few professors I was not quite as fond of, for the most part I have been happy with the professors that taught my courses. They made themselves readily accessible for students that had questions and were eager to help each student be successful in their course.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: The school is very career oriented, and even includes courses preparing you for the application process, which gives students access to resources that help them find jobs in their career choice, prepare their resume, and even perform trial interviews.

5 College Junior

Online Courses: The online program at CTU is very well generated. I have done online schooling at another school and the two programs don't even compare. They have really done a good job designing the virtual campus and making it easily accessible and full of resources for each student.

Student Body: This one is hard for me to review, because my school is all online, so I don't get any direct interaction with my fellow student body. I have interacted online with many of my classmates, but the conversations are generally just school-based, so I don't gain very much information about them as a person.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Although they have been helpful in making sure I can get all the financial aid possible for my degree, I feel like the school itself could be accepting a lot more scholarships. I had some financial aid available to me from a previous school I went to, and CTU did not accept it, which is frustrating to me because it is money that I could be saving in student loans.

Career Services: The career center at my school was very attentive to my needs when I graduated. They made me very aware that they were available for my help and assisted me in multiple different aspects of the job-hunting process.

Academic Experience: All of the designs of the courses are uniform, which has its advantages and disadvantages. Since the assignments are all graded in the same format, I can know what my expectations are upon the beginning of each course. On the downside, certain classes may require more teacher accessibility, while others require less. Class difficulty varies as well, and therefore may require more of your time while still only allowing the same allotted time frame as a class that requires less time. I heard from a previous alumni that CTU used to offer 6 week courses and 10 week courses, and I wish they would bring that option back.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: For some courses, I have felt that the challenge could have been more. Grading could also have been more meticulous in some courses. There were a few grades I received that I felt I was graded too easily on and didn't get the full amount of feedback I was hoping for.

Campus Resources: My campus is strictly online, so physical resources aren't available, but the online resources are easily accessible to students, and many varieties are available as well. Whether it be looking up a specific book in the virtual library, talking online with a real librarian, or CTU's patented M.U.S.E. program, resources are very well designed.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academic Flexibility: Could be better and it could be worse. It all depends on the individual student and what he or she chooses to pursue. It is the parent company the CEC and the FA Departments that need investigating by the States, Feds, US Dept of Education, the accrediting departments and more.

3 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: It could be worse but it could also be better. Again the parent company and the way they run the Financial Aid Department has me a little leery about this school. It is no diploma mill but it can seem or feel like one at times.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: It is decent again it is the parent company and the FA Dept that need investigating.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: For the most part they are great and the professors do a decent job teaching them.

5 Recent Alumnus

Online Courses: For we who are here to learn and not just complain about the school it is great. But for those who are not well it can be a real pain in the butt honestly. I lean more towards the middle on that there are some things that need to change at CTU such as the Financial Aid, cost of tuition, transparency etc. but mostly it is a decent school.

3 Recent Alumnus

Student Body: It needs improvement. Accelerated online learning at a for profit school is a bit spendy. But they also need to be more transparent and show us when our funds are coming in, how much and from who, what the fees are etc. There is too much "secrecy" going on with the FA department at CTU and honestly they need to be audited again by the US Dept of Education and the various lenders as well as up for review by the accreditation board.

4 Recent Alumnus

Tuition & Financial Aid: Not perfect but not the worse again review previous answers in regards to career services. What is killing them mostly is lack of communication with post or almost post graduates. It should not fall on the responsibility entirely of the students to contact career services.

4 Recent Alumnus

Career Services: It's not too bad but it could be better they could work on reaching out to post graduates a bit better, help us format decent resumes, cover letters etc. so that we are more "sell able" to the job markets and more to make us or to help us pursue careers, jobs etc.

4 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: It could be better but again that is for the brick and mortar schools. Most of the programs here lack that hands on experience but you do learn a lot and at an accelerated pace vs. the brick and mortar schools where degrees can take years to earn. Here we do it on average in a year and a half for each program and each course is usually only 5 and a half weeks long to a max of 11 weeks for some.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: It could be better honestly. It all depends on what is available and what the student chooses to do but with an online campus it is sort of hard to get that in person hands on face to face interaction with the actual school or the true help that one needs. The program is not too bad and once you are used to the curriculum and the way that things work on the virtual campus the schedules etc. it is actually great. It is not like a brick and mortar experience at all. The live chats do help to make up for the lack of face to face time with real time chats with the professors and fellow students but other wise you are mostly on your own. Get ready for a ton of research and mostly writing papers and submitting discussion boards. There is very little actual in person human interaction with online learning but it can work.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: It could be a lot better. It depends on what department that you are talking to and on what day and what individual as well. The admissions is good but could be better and not so salesman like and pushy to a point. The student advising is spot on great but again that depends on who your adviser is. The teachers, instructors and professors are for the most part great. It is the parent company the CEC Career Education Corporation yes they are a for profit company and they run mostly online and brick and mortar for profit campuses who needs to clean up their act. They run the Financial Aid department like a bunch of Chicago based dirty and greedy crooks who only just barely get by to keep the Title 4 funding and accrediting via the US Dept of Education.
