Overall Experience: I was in the theatre department for 3 1/2 years working on a degree in technical theatre with a concentration in management and production. It. Was. The. Worst.

The staff was unprofessional; professors sleeping with students, openly bad mouthing other staff, stating in class that they hate teaching and don't really care about their classes or what you're learning, they're just there for the pay check. Out dated equipment, a lack of recent real world experience, a department head more interested in community politics than the success of students who genuinely enjoyed seeing students mistreated and struggling (to the point that the school president had to intervene at one point).

The rest of the college was ok, but there is very little help in guiding you in how to reach your goals. Bad advisors. The school spends money unwisely - a huge focus on making the campus pretty as opposed to updating labs/equipment (unless you're in a medical or science/math based program - they are pushing that big time).

I wouldn't discount the whole school, but if you're seeking a degree in performing arts I would not attend this college ever. You will not find happiness or success during or after. Most of my classmates whom completed their degrees in technical theatre have gone back to get different degrees and start new careers or had to drop a similar amount of money to educate themselves on what current day employers are looking for. The performing arts department at CMU is a huge waste of money. Out of state tuition at a more accredited school would be more cost effective.

Overall Experience: Like in every high establishment, there are some things that don't work out so well. However, with that being said, I am enjoying my experience and hope that the remaining years I have here will better that outlook.

Overall Experience: I am so glad that I chose Colorado Mesa University. The class sizes are small so the teachers have a one-on-one relationship with the students. Everyone on campus are nice and welcoming. There are also tons of clubs and intramurals that anyone can take part in.

Overall Experience: I strongly believe Colorado Mesa University is the right school for me, it fits my schedule and my personality. I love attending Colorado Mesa University, because the classes are the right size for me. I feel most comfortable in a small environment, in which my professors know my name. Colorado mesa has many unique aspects, the fact that it has two different campuses makes it more attainable. The campus I attend is in Montrose, Colorado a beautiful city to grow and explore, although you also have the option to attend in Grand junction, Colorado, with the same comforting small town feel but with city attractions. Another great aspect to the school, comes from the friendly staff, they are always ready to be of assistance. I have made the best decision to further my education in my hometown, Colorado Mesa is the school for me.

Overall Experience: The school I wish to attend has many amazing aspects to it but it is far from being one of the best. I do however like the fact that the school at least tries to better themselves and improve their overall image. It has made progress from years past but I still consider it to be an okay school. It is not the worst and at the same time not the best it was just right for it fits my needs. I have yet to start school therefore there is not much I can really say about it yet but from first impressions and what I have heard from friends I believe I made a good choice.

Overall Experience: I absolutely love my school! They take the best care of the students, staff, and the environment.

5 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Colorado Mesa University is amazing! I absolutely loved my four years here. The best thing about CMU was the small class sizes and the fact that the professors actually got to know you. I received an internship with the help of my professor as well as got to shadow people in my perspective field. Also, there is so much to do not only on campus, but in Grand Junction in general. The university provides the students with activities every single week. We also put on concerts (Macklemore, G-Eazy, Ronnie Dunn) and parties. Not to mention, you are minutes away from hiking, biking, rock climbing, skiing/snowboarding, sky-diving, white water rafting, ice climbing and more! Grand Junction is the MECCA for outdoor activities PLUS you wont break the bank attending there! Wouldn't change it for the world.

Off-Campus Housing: There is availability to rent houses off campus, but usually rent is really high.

3 College Senior

Party Scene: Most parties occur in local off campus housing where alcohol is permitted and you do not have strict rules as you do on campus.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: There are not a lot of healthy options to choose from. There are mostly fast food dining options.

3 College Senior

Administration: Alcohol use in the dorms are very strict. Administaration could lighten up a little bit.

3 College Senior

Campus Food: I believe the dining hall could be bigger and not as crowded.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: Financial aid is easy to get, but the interest rate is too high.

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: Some of the dorms are older so they are not as clean.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Parties are usually close to campus but off campus boundaries so you can walk there to avoid driving. Kind of a small campus though so things can get boring pretty quickly

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: If you like fast food you should be golden because they have a ton of fast food late night options but if you want something healthy and not too expensive you're pretty much out of luck.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: The strictness isn't awful, you still get the vibe of being on your own and you don't have a babysitter but at the same time you feel safe and secure with the rules and regulations.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The food variety can get boring, especially in the mornings, healthy options are available but often not very good. Could cater to specific needs better.

Scholarships: The school has plenty of scholarship and financial aid opportunities but sometimes it can be difficult to find them or apply.
