4 College Junior

Overall Experience: The campus is a decent size.

They do a great job with student services and updating information that is needed.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: College of Southern Maryland has plenty of activities for students. You feel very comfortable on campus. All of the staff is nice and friendly. There are plenty of programs that you should take advantage of like free tutoring, workshops, and study abroad. I love attending this college.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: Choosing Frostburg was probably the greatest decision of my life (so far) the people here are so amazing and helpful whenever you need help and there is plenty of things to do around campus.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I love csm its a great school close to home. I dont like admissions because they made it difficult.

5 College Student

Overall Experience: Everything is understandable and precise.

2 College Junior

Overall Experience: The school is very hipster ish. There is nothing to do on weekends, I am a transfer and mostly everyone has their friend groups already so it is hard. If you are looking to have a good time this is not the school for you.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: I enjoyed every class I've taken at csm. I prefer the La Plata and Prince Frederick campus the most the professors seen more caring there based on my experience. A nice taste of college life close to hone with a big price. Just sucks bio company has partnered up with then to offer some type of student friendly priced apartments

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I like how small and intimate my classes are, the school is tiny to begin with.

The enrollment process was slightly difficult due to the disorganization of the staff.

Overall I enjoy CSM because of the fair teachers and the great environment.

3 College Student

Overall Experience: It's a pretty good school. Good if you're just starting out like I am. It's a pretty good place to get your general EDS out of the way. Pretty cheap and a pretty campus.

3 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: the staff could be more helpful in the offices but other than that its your typical community college

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I haven't been to CSM yet but I have applied. My experience in high school I would say has been very good and I have learned a great dea of information, that will definitely help me in college.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: My only hassle is the "that's not my department" or "that's not my job" aspect of everything. You'll find yourself standing in a long line to find out you're in the wrong line before you find out the person you need to speak to is booked. You make the appointment to see them 2 weeks from then to get half the questions answered and directed to the department that handles the rest. I feel like they're understaffed.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The affordability and nursing program make the college unique.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have such varying extremes with my class experience. I've had a lab instructor take the class from someone that ended up not having the space/time for an extra class and the entire experience was chaos. I've also had a psych instructor that was PHENOMENAL and put most of the grade weight of lecture participation and real world observation.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: For a community college of this size with this amount of funding, there are more positives than negatives.

Online Courses: VERY different teachers. Use ratemyprofessors like a best friend. Use discretion because some professors do their own surveys on the site. You usually recognize them by all 5's with a 3 or 4 on easiness and immaculate wording. 3 nice ratings and 7 warnings? Use caution.

Seriously. Look up the professors. On TBA classes with no instructor listed, treat it like a 4 credit class. You won't know the professor or workload, so just be careful.

Check ALL your links when the class goes live in blackboard. If your instructor has a lot of broken links, or a serious lack of data on their blackboard, chances are your whole experience is going to be like that.

Student Body: Very diverse, very accepting, very accomodating

Tuition & Financial Aid: Do everything before March 1st, and apply for everything. Switch degree programs between semesters, if you're not in a health program. A lot of private donors offer scholarships for different degree programs and different school terms. Look into them.

Academic Experience: The nursing program is solid. My GPA and specs make me highly qualified for the program. Though they accept applicants both terms, you're accepted as preclinical and then clinical. If you've completed all non nursing courses, and have met all preclinical requirements and are able to move on from acceptance into the clinicals, you must still wait an entire semester.

Academic Experience: It's fine, but when they change classes by making one obsolete , the requirements become more lengthy. Ex: Math1000t leading into Math1105 or Math1080 is obsolete, now is Math900 leading into Math 1000 leading into Math 1105 or Math1080, changing the prereqs for Bio, Chem, etc

Campus Resources: The only issue I have so far is the runaround. Though I've made appointments for education path planning, I feel like I'm never in front of the person I need to be to get sorted out. There is a lot of "that's not my job" and it's frustrating because questions that are answered are sometimes answered differently, according to who you meet.

5 College Senior

Campus Resources: Has a lot to offer, cafe, pool and a lot of campus activites.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: Only problem Ive had this year is it seems to have less classes available than the previous year.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: Saved me thousands of dollars on undergraduate degree

4 College Senior

Online Courses: online classes are very easy if your organized, can finish classes early and take tests when due.
