College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I am not able to live off campus so I do not know.

Off-Campus Dining: The hole in the fence is a great place to grab a meal, they use our student ID cards if we do not have cash or debt cards on us. PC is also a greta place to eat but may be a little pricey at times.

4 College Freshman

Administration: This school has a very big honor code.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: I have not really been to any parties but i hear all about them. Everyone says that everyone has each others backs and wouldn't let anything happen.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Just apply for every scholarship that you can. Keep your grades up so that you can keep your school scholarship.

Campus Food: The cafeteria food is not the best, but the lodge makes up for it. I have found myself getting sick from eating chicken from the dining hall and that my food is sometimes very cold. The lodge has amazing food and the price isn't too bad but, could defiantly be cheaper. I love that the cafeteria tries to have different selections of food everyday. The sandwich bar is also one of my favorite things from the dinning hall.

Campus Housing: I absolutely love living here at Colby-Sawyer. I never expected to meet as many amazing people as I have here. The dorms are on the older side , but to me that is what makes this school even more attractive to me. The students and staff make coming here enjoyable just from friendly personalities and always willing to help others.

Off-Campus Housing: I don't live off campus so I can't rate the off campus housing. I have seen some of the off campus, college affiliated apartments/duplexes. They are decent on the inside, and usually stay that way depending on the people who live in them. Cost of the duplexes is high. Unsure about campus affiliated houses or apartments.

Off-Campus Dining: Small town with only a few restaurants. Some offer discounts others don't.

Administration: Academic policies are good. Attendance policies are at the discretion of the professors, some professors are more lenient than others. Campus safety only enforces parking if you are in a handicap space, don't have a permit, or park in a staff/faculty lot. Student lots aren't monitored as well, people with a strict K-lot permit still park in other lots as they wish without getting ticketed, and force others with the RS permit out of their allowed lots and campus safety doesn't do anything.

Visitor parking is for cars with visitors permits only

College Sophomore

Party Scene: I do not party, as I am a nursing student. I do not have time to party, they often are too loud and I can hear them from the building next door, and it disrupts my sleep.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I received a great deal from the school for aid, but when it came to helping me find outside scholarships, they were not helpful. If you plan to take out loans and want a refund check for books, request it as soon as you can, they often take a week to receive.

save money from the previous year and purchase books online before the start of the year to get them on time, a lot of professors expect reading done for the 1st or 2nd class. do not buy from the campus book store unless absolutely necessary.

Campus Food: dining hall food can be hit or miss, depends on day and food served. variety is hit or miss as well, some days there will be a huge variety and others it will be things like salmon fillet or fish sticks for options.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Some of the buildings are older and rooms feel almost prison-like with plain white walls and no color. The newer buildings and sections of older buildings that have been remodeled, look great. Campus events are nice, wacky-bingo once a month has nice prizes. March wacky bingo gave away a wii u. Sometimes a new TV.

Best and worst dorms vary depending on what you are looking for. Weekend parties are in some, others are usually quiet.

Off-Campus Housing: I do not really know

Off-Campus Dining: There are not too many.

Administration: I do not really know

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: I do not really go out so I am not really aware.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Dining hall is very clean, staff is nice

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It is loud and dirty on the weekends.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There's not a lot of close options. Hole in the Fence is good, but a little overpriced; Pizza Chef is pretty good, but they sometimes definitely can improve. If you have a car, you can go to Five Guys, Boloco, and other restaurants near West Leb or Concord (about 20 minutes away), but if you don't, there's not a lot of options. The Flying Goose and Peter Christian's, however, are excellent.

Administration: I've personally never had any problems with the campus safety officers or the administration. Yes, they are strict about things like underage drinking and definitely about drug use, but they usually give second and third chances for you to get off of probation and back in good standing.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I'm in the honors program, so I got a fairly good scholarship. However, it does only cover about half the cost, which does present a problem for such an expensive school. They give you advice about what scholarships to apply for but after you get a couple of scholarships you're on your own.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: For me, it's pretty nice. I have a lot of friends who are seniors so I'm usually invited to parties every weekend. A lot of people say it's a small party scene, which it is, but as long as you're outgoing you'll be fine. It's really just what you make of it.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: It really is hit-or-miss. On event days, the food is great. However, a lot of the time it's subpar. I've never heard of anyone getting sick off of it, though, and even if the taste at the dining hall isn't stellar, you can always get something ready-made at the Lodge, which has pretty great comfort food.
