Campus Resources: As a non-traditional student, I was scared to return to college. I didn't remember the enrollment processes that I had originally done 15 years ago. The staff and even the current students were very open and friendly. They were encouraging and supportive and I felt like this was the college I should have gone to.

Online Courses: I like the flexibility that online classes provide, but do miss the in class discussions and input/questions from other students.

Overall Experience: The teachers I work with are incredible people. They are so enthusiastic about their subjects and are always going the extra mile to help students in class, as well as connect them with outside resources if they would like to delve into other avenues of study.

Overall Experience: From what I can see so far, its pretty good! Graduated students stop by often and talk to us about the jobs they started upon graduating. New job openings are posted in class, and companies often call and ask if there are students available to come work for them.

Student Body: The students are from all walks of life. Retired military, criminals being reintroduced to society, career changers, first time students, running start high school students, and anyone wanting to learn a particular technical trade.

Overall Experience: The teachers for the graphics design course are top notch. They are clearly passionate about the industry, about teaching, and about helping their students succeed. We are able to work with the best, latest equipment in the industry, and have easy access to additional help and resources. The curriculum is challenging and yet completely accomplishable, and we are supported and encouraged every day to do our best, and learn to the maximum potential.

Academic Experience: We are working with the most up to date versions of the computer programs we are learning, and get to use industry standard high tech computers. We are learning on what the industry expects us to be able to use which is very helpful.

Academic Experience: My college offers a nice selection of core classes for general education requirements, and offers a wide variety of specialized technical courses. I am lucky in that I know the area I want to study, but am still exposed to a variety of other fields. If another subject inspired me I feel like it would be easy to study different areas of academia.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My course was overflowing with students when I signed up, so I was wait listed. When enough people dropped out I was able to attend classes at the start of the year, but because I wasn't officially in class until after the financial aid deadline I had to pay for classes out of pocket without financial assistance. This was only for the first quarter. Now that I am enrolled I have signed up for and plan to receive financial aid for the remainder of my studies.

Campus Resources: It's getting better. There is a counselor that is using my course of study as a guinea pig for a program she created to help students connect more with the help available for students. Mostly students are simply unaware of the help they can receive, so they assume no help is offered. The school is taking steps to change this, and it is encouraging.

Career Services: Our teachers are in contact with several businesses in our area of study and constantly post job opportunities for graduating students. As far as what the school administration provides for graduates, I'm not aware yet of the help they offer for job placement assistance.

Academic Flexibility: Overall it has been pretty easy getting into my college, and the staff in my area of study are phenomenal. They are very accommodating to life circumstances, are very encouraging, helpful, and really care about their students. They actually practice what they preach which is incredibly refreshing and reassuring. It makes me feel very secure in continuing my education at this school because I feel like the staff will help me out if life starts to run me over. There are rules and deadlines of course, but they make it very easy to deal with life on top of classes.

Campus Quality: I have not been around long enough to have a feel for this

Campus Resources: There are new buildings and updated buildings that are very nice and appealing to the eye, but on the other hand there are very old buildings which need to be demolished. One of these old buildings I have been inside smells musty and the floors creak when you walk down the hall. There are also old military-looking buildings that are really an eye-sore! The student center is very nice and so is the library. Parking was poorly planned.

Campus Resources: I do not currently have a personal computer, so I have been utilizing the computer lab or computer classroom almost daily. The computer lab is a spacious room with comfortable chairs and proper lighting. It always has available computers and the staff is very helpful. I have not had any difficulty with network reliability or speed, and printing is available for 5 cents a page.

Academic Experience: I am currently enrolled in 2 on-line computer classes and will not start the accounting program until next quarter. The only input I have is a very positive experience with one of the program instructors - both in a phone conversation and an in-person visit to get some questions answered.

Academic Experience: My class registration process was smooth, quick, and done by a wonderful employee at the front desk. I registered a day after classes started because I had been undecided, but it was no problem. I changed from Excel to PowerPoint during the first week and then changed my Word class from classroom to on-line and both changes were very smooth. Again, because I am currently only taking 2 computer classes and won't start the accounting program until next quarter, I really don't have a lot to review.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Having gone to college the first time over 30 years ago, I find the tuition to be very expensive, especially for a technical college. Apparently I do not qualify for financial aid because I already have a bachelor's degree, so I am looking at scholarships since I currently am unemployed.

College Junior

Career Services: I have not utilized any of these services

Student Body: It appears as if most of the students at Clover Park range in age from 18 to 60. There are a lot of young adults pursuing their first career, but there are also a lot of older adults either going to college for the first time or returning to college to change their career focus. There are also a lot of veterans using their education benefits. Lakewood has a wide ethnic diversity, especially black, white, and Asian.
