As a commuter living a short distance from campus, Cleveland State was convenient. Distance is not what makes it an amazing school or what determined my decision to attend CSU. It was the great professors, programs/majors, student life, and affordability. There are numerous organizations and events to participate in and ways to become active at the school. The campus is beautiful and being able to walk off campus and immediately be in Downtown Cleveland to experience the city is awesome! It is a large school but you will not be just a number if you take your education, time, and life seriously. Just like in the real world you make your education, time, and life what it can be when you work hard and connect to the professors and students. Regardless of where you attend, only then can your educational goals will be fulfilled.

Cleveland State is a wonderful place to spend your undergrad. Cleveland is fun and beautiful. The university is constantly going through renovations to continue to create stronger programs. The admissions counsellors bend over backwards to make visits and your time at CSU well spent. Everyone is knowledgeable on places to live in the area, the school and it's programs, and financial assistance (if they are unsure they will find someone who can help). The only con I have noticed with the university is safety. Cleveland is not the safest city, but the university takes many precautions to be sure students are in the know when there is someone around campus who looks suspicious. Overall, this is a wonderful school!

The athletics of Cleveland State University are a big part of life on campus! The basketball games create just as much hype as CSU as the football team at Ohio State does on their campus. Cleveland State students all get into athletic events for free with their CSU ID cards and everyone in the stands really get the crowd roaring. The Cleveland State band plays extremely energetic music, to which the dance team and cheerleaders perform complex routines and the Berserkers, our very own uberfan club lead the cheers when the team goes directly head on against their opponent team. Our mascot, Magnus the Viking can be seen all over campus and social media, promoting upcoming games and the free giveaways given to those who attend. Giveaways include mini basketballs, Viking helmets, beanies in our school colors (green and white), and colorful T-shirts with creative designs!
