4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel safe on campus and off.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: The campus is safe and I personally feel safe walking around at all times. Problems with safety mostly occur off campus at fraternity housing.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: The safety of the campus is always very important to the school as there are emergency notification poles set up all across campus if you are ever in danger and need help. There are texts/emails sent to us if any suspicious activity takes place on or around campus. I always feel protected because there is a large abundance of law enforcement at Clemson and they do everything to protect the students and community.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Clemson is very safe and a small town, but most students/ residents still joke about rape.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Crime is low and i generally feel safe on campus, even at night

Security phones, police escorts, and lights all over campus help make Clemson a very safe environment for students. The annual Clemson Safe Walk involves students and members of the Clemson community who walk the campus and discuss ways to improve safety. Most students agree that Clemson is an extremely safe campus as long as you take the basic precautionary measures, like walking in a group after dark and locking your doors.

Clemson is a fairly large university located in a rural setting, which makes it an obvious target for theft by outsiders. However, most students will tell you they haven't had any trouble, and there really isn't too much to worry about. As long as you use common sense (lock up your bikes, cars, and apartments, and avoid walking alone at night), you shouldn't have any difficulties with strangers or outsiders.
