Greek Life

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: they are not a big deal on campus and many people can take them or leave them.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: I have friends in greek life and they still hang out with me like nothings changed. I think its mostly just an organization to give people something to do with their free time. My girl friend is in Kappa Delta and it seems like what they do around

Clemson is awesome. I think the driving force behind at least KD, only KD because I have had personal experience with them, is good. They don't seem trashy or anything near the stereotypes you hear about. The fraternities have taken some heat lately and I think that comes down to the saying one bad apple ruins the whole bunch. For the most part my experience with frat guys hasn't really been much different than with guys not in a frat.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I am very interested in the Greek life available on campus and have a well understanding of the opportunities available.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Since I'm not apart of a fraternity its hard for me to discuss in detail the atmosphere and impact that Greek life plays at Clemson. I do know that there are a number of Greek housing available year long that has a similar look to other dormitories but does stand out. From my one year freshman experience I couldn't really see any significant affect that Greeks had on campus life besides the parties they host and their community building of the members.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I personally don't care for Greek life. There have been far to many negative incidents involving Greek life, even one in which a Clemson student died. While there are exceptions to everything and I have many friends who are in Greek life, I find a vast majority of sorority sisters and fraternity brothers to be stuck up, preppy, and judgmental of non-Greeks. The parties are fun though.

Less than a quarter of the students at Clemson are Greek, but fraternities and sororities still have highly visible social scenes. In addition to becoming involved on campus, going Greek is a great way to meet a lot of people, fast. Although it can be time consuming and expensive, Greek life thrives at Clemson because enough students want it to.

Becoming a member of the Greek community is entirely up to you. There are plenty of fraternities and sororities on campus, all different in their own way. If you are considering becoming a Greek, you should attend the rush functions in the fall to get to know some of the different fraternities and sororities.
