4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: The friendliness of people in the south definitely sets Clemson apart from other schools. Also we have a lot of school pride.

Athletics: Clemson Tigers. ACC. USC rivalry. Orange Bowl. Football is king, all the big sports are here but nothing is going to bigger than football season.

Guys & Girls: pretty standard southern prep lake-life types

Local Area: I prefer a bigger, more cosmopolitan environment but it's nice for a quaint college town.

Health & Safety: Every now and then there will be something, but it seems to be dealt with quickly. Incidents are rare (to my knowledge) and the university is very good with sending texts and e-mails to alert students of issues.

Campus Food: I don't use it a whole lot, but it looks alright. A bit overpriced compared to cooking yourself, but if you're in a dorm, what are you going to do?

Weather: Hot and humid in the summer, coldish and rainy in the winter.

Campus Quality: Campus life is pretty solid, always something going and there are tons of clubs. Greek life is huge here, so if you're into that, you'll have a bast. Facilities are all pretty nice, no complaints there.

Party Scene: It's a small college town, so there's a very limited number of nightlife spots and they're all very similar. Most fall into the "sports bar" genre. There's one hole in the wall beer garden where you can get something other than crap American drafts and one sushi place that turns into this nightclub-esque place later at night.

Diversity: While Clemson University is not openly racist, bigotted or the like. It is very homogeneous.. The student population is predominantly southern, white, affluent and Christian.

Diversity: Definitely a certain type of student. Very southern, Christian. No discrimination, though. Just happens to be the preppy type of student normally picks this school.

Administration: The strictness is a very good level; enough freedom to develop into an independent adult while still keeping things safe.

Academics: My major is wonderful. It's relatively small, so the professors know you well and are personally invested in your success. In order to do well, you must push yourself academically and with networking, but it is definitely achievable and very rewarding.

Academics: I have had only wonderful experiences with professors, curriculum etc. The registration process is an ongoing project of fixing, but it has been getting better. Lots of options for free tutoring, help, study groups, SI sessions. Very involved.

Local Area: The local atmosphere is great for someone who isn't obsessed with having a mall nearby. Lots of outdoor things to do and is absolutely beautiful.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

Clemson offers an amazing college experience. Students return for the rest of their lives to see how the campus has changed and to support the Tigers. Although it is located in a small town, the school is big enough that there is never a dull moment, and the location only makes the student body closer to one another. As anyone who has been to Clemson knows, the students' blood here is orange, and the Clemson spirit is contagious for almost anyone who attends.
