4 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking spots are right next to dorms and classrooms

4 College Freshman

Parking: There is always parking available for those who have registered a car. Anyone, other can freshman, are allowed to register a car. Usually there is parking open that is within a 3 minute walk from one's dorm, and at most, there will be spots open that are within a 8 minute walk.

4 Recent Alumnus

Parking: The parking situation isn't that bad compared to more universities across the country. Most people (I believe 98%) live on campus, so it's rare, maybe a few times a week, that a student uses their car. You learn the nights that are most difficult to find parking within 2 minutes, but the furthest I had to park was a 5 minute walk to my dorm.

3 College Senior

Parking: Biased Towards Professors – Pay the extra $200 do get secure parking at the Scripps Parking lot, you never have to fight with anyone!

3 College Sophomore

Parking: There's barely any parking. Living on campus, I usually have to park a few blocks away because there's so few spots closer to the dorms. Pomona just built a new parking garage nearby, though. So, that might help in the future.

Right now, parking is extremely difficult to find at CMC because of current construction projects. There are five mid-sized parking lots available to upperclassmen with cars. Parking lots are almost always full, so it’s a gamble every time you go for a drive. It isn’t too expensive to get a parking pass, so the main complaint is finding a spot. Freshmen aren’t allowed to have cars, which has caused an uproar. Approximately 60 percent of upperclassmen have cars.

The number of complaints about parking at CMC is astronomical, so the situation will probably be fixed soon. There are also several unavailable lots currently because of construction projects, but, even when the projects are finished, parking will still be a problem. The administration will have to work on ameliorating the parking situation on campus soon, as it is one of the top on-campus complaints.
