4 College Sophomore

Administration: Honestly, the administration here is very lenient, but at the moment they are reevaluating this. Some students are getting upset about new rules, but if you think about it, this school is unbelievably chill with things most other schools would not be. We're quite lucky. But there are a number of administration issues, that's almost inevitable.

2 College Freshman

Administration: The campus does not provide shuttle services to anywhere in LA or to the airport or anywhere you want to go. If you do want to venture off campus (with school-provided transportation) you have to sign up for special events that fill up quickly. Not many options are offered.

4 College Freshman

Administration: They listen to you and really try to make it an easy and smooth transition.

5 College Junior

Administration: VERY easy going and you can do whatever you want

3 College Junior

Administration: My school is very unique in that it has a "wet campus" policy. In short, anyone is allowed to drink in public (at parties, casual events, etc.) and the administration more or less turns a blind eye.

Campus strictness at Claremont McKenna really just doesn’t exist. The basic rule is "don’t be an idiot." While there are technically policies that one would expect to see at a college, CMC really doesn’t enforce their rules. Parties are a free-for-all, where students of all ages indulge in beverages and the occasional smoke.

Recently there have been some scary incidents involving hospital runs, and e-mails from our alcohol task force have increased, but we have yet to see any real changes on campus. Resident advisors are there to help anyone that gets out of control, but they never stop people from having a good time. Campus security is around to make sure parties don’t get too rowdy, but I’ve never seen them take action.

The academic policies on the other hand are very strict. Plagiarism is taken very seriously, and if there is even a hint of plagiarizing, students are sent to the judicial review board. The same goes for cheating on exams or homework. Students who violate the academic integrity policy are either put on academic probation or suspension. The other instance in which campus strictness is a factor is bias-related incidences. If there is any sort of writing (joke or not) discriminating against a minority group, expect to get in trouble.
