Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Campus is so small that everyone knows your personal business, even the faculty and staff.
  • Claflin does not have 100 percent wireless Internet access.
  • Come to Early Registration. It eliminates all the hassle of New Student Registration Day.
  • Freshmen and sophomores have a curfew. On weekdays it is 12 a.m. and on weekends it's 1 a.m.
  • Freshmen are not allowed to have cars on campus.
  • Prices in the bookstore are very expensive. You don't get a student discount.
  • The cafeteria food is constantly repeated-examples include "Chicken Wednesdays" and "Fish Fridays."
  • The weather in Orangeburg is totally unpredictable.
  • There is absolutely no visitation allowed in the dorm rooms.
Interviews & Information Sessions
Most information sessions at Claflin are group sessions; however, the school will do its best to accommodate individual sessions. Each information session is followed by a tour of the campus.
