4 College Sophomore

Local Area: ITs nice in the newport news area.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: The campus itself is a great place to be' but outside of the campus, it is like a different world almost. Campus seems to be like a safe haven, but it is pretty much a warm environment.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: Newport News, along with the entire Hampton Roads area have great activities to offer.

The Oyster Point City Center has tons of great shopping, upscale dining, and the Paragon Theatre which has a great student discount along with comfy leather loveseats!

Patrick Henry Mall is about a ten minute drive away and has tons of great stores and a nice shopping atmosphere.

Around Newport News there are also pretty gardens/pathways (the Noland Trail especially), Museums (The Mariners Museum, Virginia Living Museum), the Peninsula Fine Arts Center, and a lot of the typical shopping and eating destinations such as Target, Walmart, Outback, Tropical Smoothie, Panera, etc.

We are also pretty close to Williamsburg that has historic Williamsburg and Busch Gardens.

2 College Junior

Local Area: Boring, gross, and dangerous are three great ways to describe Newport News. You need a car to get anywhere, but the city itself is boring and lacks life. Sure, there's the Patrick Henry Mall, but that gets extremely repetitive. If you want to have a good off-campus experience, I suggest either going up to Williamsburg or down to VA beach. Newport News is not a fun place.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: Most students tend to stay on-campus unless visiting friends living off-campus or going the beach. Patrick Henry Mall nearby is a nice option for any shopping that needs to be done!
