4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I love how the class sizes are usual 30 people and even if you do have a lecture class the professor encourages you to get to know them on a one on one basis and ask whatever questions you need and don't be scared to ask for help. Classes are challenging as expected and there are many courses offered.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I am always getting emails from the career center about job fairs and internship fairs going on almost every week so the networking is great.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel very safe on campus with the blue light system we have. I don't worry about walking alone but I do usual bring a friend with me if I am going somewhere at night.

Campus Housing: I lived in Potomac River Hall North as a freshman and I had a room mate and two suite mates and we shared a common area and a bathroom. It was very spacious and clean as long as we kept it clean. I like how we do not have hall bathrooms. All residence halls are conveniently close to academic buildings and dining halls. Housing process is not very easy, this year when applying for housing there were more students then there were rooms offered so it was a hassle.

Greek Life: I am currently not a part of Greek life but I am planning on rushing in the fall. It is an easy way to make friends and find people with the same interests as you. Everywhere I look I see a Greek on campus but I still do not feel overpowered by them. Housing just started to be built for them.

Athletics: Athletics at this school are not very big. All of our sports are division three so we don't have any huge games. The football team last year was not very good and that is usually the biggest event but not last year. Lacrosse games I would say have the biggest turn out with the most school spirit.

Overall Experience: I am a rising sophomore at CNU and I love it. I am from New Jersey so living in Virginia has been an adjustment but I have loved every second of it. Everyone is so outgoing and kind and makes me feel at home. People are smiling everywhere you turn and the atmosphere is very relaxed. I never want my time to end here.

2 College Senior

Party Scene: There's not much of a "party" scene as far as I know. There's no good local bars or clubs for those of legal age and public transportation is terrible.

2 College Senior

Party Scene: I have no clue where the good parties are. I imagine that fraternities and sororities have their get-togethers, but being a dry campus, they would have to go elsewhere for those sort of festivities.

3 College Senior

Academics: The workload is what I would expect from a higher education institution. My teachers have been good so far, though some courses I've struggled in. As for registration, it is difficult to get the courses you want -- especially as a biology major.

3 College Senior

Diversity: As far as I can tell, there's not too much diversity on campus. The majority of students are white, middle/upper class people. There are often cases where an evangelical preacher is allowed to speak in our courtyard, which some do not agree with.

4 College Senior

Drug Safety: There's very little peer pressure and we're actually a dry campus. However, I don't doubt that students partake in drugs or alcohol on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: There are some downsides to not living on campus: feeling isolated, not knowing many of the students who actually live on campus.

The courses are very challenging, which is actually something I looked for in searching for a university, and there are many different types of courses offered to students. The class sized are small, and most are hard to even get into if you aren't a Senior.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: There are many different types of internships and jobs that are available to students. I applied to work as a Library Assistant through the career program on campus, Career Connect. There were many available options in the Hampton Roads area for students and those with experience in certain fields.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: All employees, both new and old, attended the seminar on the newly revised Title IX Policy against Sexual Assault on and off campus. All students do get alerts of sexual assault, but most are at least two to three days after the incident happened, and I feel as though by then, it might be too late for anyone on campus to do anything.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus, but after being accepted into CNU, each incoming Freshman must attend Orientation called Setting Sail. It helps the Freshman to come to terms with no longer living at home, getting used to the new atmosphere, and discussing the multiple facilities available to the students. Each student was able to spend the night in one of the rooms in the residence halls.

I was assigned to a room in York East. The shower was extremely small; most of the bathroom itself was taken up by the toilet facility (which is co-ed), and the respective sinks are outside of the bathrooms near the doors. The room was small, but large enough for the two beds, desks, and wardrobes. In fact, during my Setting Sail session, eight people were able to sleep in my room, due to staying up late, and having rooms in other buildings. Two people slept in each bed, one or two poeple could fit into a sleeping bag beneath the raised beds, and one person slept on the chairs from a desk. All in all, it was a good time, and the rooms are good for storage as well.

Greek Life: I am not in Greek Life at CNU, but I do see that they contribute to the community and do plenty of fundraising activities in and outside of the David Student Union. The main reason I have yet to pledge for a sorority is mainly due to the entrance fees, and I wouldn't know where to start in regards to which sorority I would join.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: I only say that the sports programs are alright because I do not participate in sports. I do see that there are multiple facilities available for students involved in sports, and many activities for students who are not involved in sports.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I do like attending CNU due to the closeness of the school to my own home, however, as a commuter, there is no set parking lot for us to park our cars in. Also, the parking decals are expensive, and some events the happen later on in the day do not cater to commuters.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I think that this school provides a degree with value but I also think that this school doesn't offer enough information on things after we graduate and what and how we should acquire a job after graduation.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The courses at this school are great but the general education classes that are required are often difficult and unnecessary. And it is often difficult to get the classes that you need to graduate on time.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I fell really safe at this school.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The housing at CNU is great but there are things that could be changed. The rooms are nice and big compared to other schools so that is nice and the suite styled bathrooms are great. But the housing lottery is a huge hassle and a lot of people this year did not get rooms and some people are forced to live in the same dormitories or underclassmen dorms instead of the upperclassmen dorms that were they were expected to be living in.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: There could be more sororities and fraternities on campus but other than that Greek life is good.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: The athletics at this school are great but they could be a little better.
