3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: The girls are mostly pretty on campus. Of course, you have those who are less attractive than others, but most of them are pretty, in my opinion. They all dress nice, they have great attitudes, and they are very friendly.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: It was great. I received the financial aid I needed in a great amount of time.

Campus Housing: It has really changed my life.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: Really amazing. Teachers really know you.

3 College Junior

Diversity: There are quite a few international students, but the population seems to hold the same set of beliefs and come from the same background.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Student looks are great but occasionally it can seem that the students are a little snobby and entitled. Once you get past this, it is pretty fun. The atmosphere is a very private school typical atmosphere. Everyone knows everyone, and you may often deal with petty social groups.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: Most people that go to CBU join a fraternity or sorority, but I have never felt that there was any pressure to do so.

Transportation: In Memphis, public transportation is a mess, so it is best to have a car. Being a private school, the university does not offer much in the way of transportation. It is best to live on campus or have a car. If you live on campus without a car, it is possible to walk to some places and very often people carpool for grocery store runs and going out.

4 College Junior

Athletics: It is a small private school, so the varsity squads often aren't well known (with the exception of the soccer team). The facilities though are well kept, and undergraduate students have access to both the school gym, which is subpar, and the fitness center across street, which is great.

4 College Junior

Local Area: Memphis is a wonderful city. If you love music, barbeque, art or history, there is plenty to do. I think that people undervalue it because it often does not appear glamorous, but that also can be the charm.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: I have not noticed any drugs on campus, and I have several years of experience. The drug of choice is alcohol, but most students still don't take part.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: Apply early! Don't forget. If your credit score is poor, you may have a rough time receiving non-government assistance.

Campus Housing: In comparison, I probably should have given the campus housing a better rating. It is spacious, convenient, and decently clean. It is a small school, but it seems like it is easy to find your niche in the social community. The only reason I did not give this a higher rating is because of the price. There are much nicer apartments available at the same rate, and even houses. In the summer, almost everyone in Memphis may have a pest problem. This is easily fixed with roach motels if you are willing to spend the money (and it is worth it!). I can't discredit the campus housing because of a few roaches that my friends have seen, but I do believe that there is better value for perhaps a second or third year student who is already adjusted in an apartment or house nearby.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: The campus staff can be very helpful in obtaining off campus housing. There are a wide range of apartments and houses around that are very convenient and usually much nicer and cheaper than campus housing.

Weather: Memphis has very hot summers, and quite chilly winters, with not much in between. We usually have several snow days a year, though most of the US would not consider the precipitation snow. It is mostly ice, and our schools and offices shut down at the first sight of it. In the summer, we may have a few tornado warnings, but we have not had any tragic tornadoes in a very long time. It is rare to send students home when the weather appears stormy or with a chance of a tornado. We have drills for that, and I have heard that the draft of the Mississippi river often keeps tornadoes from taking ground (that is just hearsay though).

Health & Safety: With inclement weather, I emailed the security team, and they were quick to respond. They are also at the front gate every morning, and I often see them driving around campus, though much less at night. The city of Memphis can be a dangerous place, and thus I am never confident in security, but I feel very safe on this campus.

5 College Junior

Parking: parking is great and it is easy to find somewhere to park.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: no drugs allowed on campus. it is a direct violation against school policies.

4 College Junior

Administration: CBU makes it a rule to keep students safe from negative forces pertaining to their education.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I live away from school and my apartment is ok and comfortable.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Security officers make me feel secure because they patrol the area frequently.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: The finances I received help fund my tuition up until the last few semesters.

4 College Junior

Technology: the campus computers are very assessable and easy to use.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: I never use my student discounts. I am an adult student who support a family and just buy food.

3 College Junior

Local Area: It's like any other town. you have to visit the sites to enjoy them.
