Overall Experience: I wouldn't choose the school again because its's disorganized and confusing.

Overall Experience: As a senior, I have had a couple of years under my belt and with graduation approaching, I must say that it hasn't been easy when dealing with advisors doing a poor job with, obviously, advising. I have been unfortunate enough to be led astray when taking courses pertinent to my major; however, I took the initiative by acquiring a course roster detailing nessacary requirements for my particular major. Aside from poor advising, I have enjoyed the small class sizes because it allows students to become familiarized with their professors as well as classmates which produces a feeling of fellowship.

Overall Experience: Overall, Chicago State University is a great school. However, if you are looking for a huge campus with a great number of students who are enjoying the college life, then Chicago State U is not for you. If you desire to come back to school and earn a Bachelor's, or Master's Degree along with students who are parents and professors who are understanding and flexible then come on in! The best time is Welcome Week which is the first week of school every semester. Student Activities work really hard to get students involved and gain a feeling of comfort at their new or returning semester. Majority of the students are friendly as well!

Overall Experience: Teachers are great but paperwork needs to be processed faster.

Overall Experience: If I could do it all over again, I am not sure I would choose to attend this particular institution. It is difficult to reach personnel via telephone. No one seems to have any valid information for the students and they send the students from building to building with invalid information. When changes occur, the student body are not notified and have to find other means of discovering the information. When student fees were implemented and increased more and more, students were not notified and the fees are applied AFTER financial aid is awarded, which leaves the students to pay nearly $3,000 out of pocket per semester.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: I have been told that its okay

1 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: The cost is ridiculous and many places don't deliver because of the terrible parking situation and cost. Also there are NO student discountss

3 College Junior

Scholarships: It's okay but it is not enough aid to cover me which forces you into more and more debt from loans

2 College Junior

Campus Food: The options are poor and the meals are high

1 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: Not many quality, affordable choices

1 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Dining: Nothing to eat around campus except a blend of onion burgers and cheetos.

Administration: CSU officers have arrested the student organizations president in front of his whole class while he gave a speech. It was a horrific sight to to see.

1 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: It is not enough Finacial Aid to cover the cost of tuition and expenses.

2 Recent Alumnus

Party Scene: I do not like the party scene in Chicago.

1 Recent Alumnus

Campus Food: No vegan options. Nothing organic. Nothing GMO-free

4 College Freshman

Administration: The reason the school is strict in those areas because they want students to be safe. If everything is going well, the police is good to work with.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: I just began school at CSU. I have not been to the parties yet.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I do not know about the Greek life or Non-Greek at my university. I haven't been there long enough to their attitudes.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: We have all the Divine Nine Organizations and some others as well. Not many members on campus though. Some are citywide chapters.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The parking lot has minimal lighting so it's difficult for students who have night classes to get to their cars safely.

Scholarships: They offer a Merit Scholarship that helps out a lot! But like most places, getting financial aid is a hassel. The financial aid advisors are very helpful and resourceful.
