Chemeketa Community College Reviews

Chemeketa community college has been a great experience for me because it has helped me find my academic interests. They help me plan my transfer to a 4-year university and are inclusive to people of many backgrounds. Their cafe is not vegan friendly which is an issue for me and some of the academic advisors are not supportive of their students. I do not attend the main campus but the one in McMinnville Oregon. The area around this campus does not make me feel very safe because there is a lack of security. The teachers however, I have found to be amazing in helping me with my academic journey. They are easy to talk to and genuinely care about the futures of their students.
Chmeketa does a great job providing classes for hundreds of different career paths, a majority of the professors are amazing individuals and I have only ever had issues with 2 professors, I have a total of 96 credits so I would say the amount of great professors absolutely outweighs those were not. The coursework is very manageable, online classes being available is a lifesaver, I am able to work on homework and watch lectures whenever I need to, especially if I work all day, I appreciate being able to access it when I am able to.
So far my time at Chemeketa has been nice. The classes have been generally good and I haven't had any major issues. My only concern is that there isn't much of a community. People are more interested in getting to their next class than getting to know each other. It is understandable, but it is also a shame.
