5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Our campus is a very safe place. I have never even questioned the thought of fear at anytime on campus.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: After attending this school it was easy to realize there is no place I would rather be.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I have not yet had personal experiences but I often see and hear great things about them

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living on campus is great experience it is the first place you make friends. However, it gets crowded and uncomfortable being in a three person room

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: The greek life is not one of those things that continuously broadcasted around campus. Mostly the events are informative and helpful but are not very popular.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: School spirit is one of the most important things in college besides the education. It is very important to take pride in our school. Regardless of the sport or player I see my school as extremely supportive.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: So far coming in as a freshman I felt nothing but comfortable and not the usual intimidation one feels when entering a new place. From the people to the staff everyone is warm and welcoming. Professors take pride in educating their students not just a job they get paid for but the fact that they are changing lives and helping increase the education and furthering the knowledge of their students.

3 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Quality of courses was good, interesting material that makes you want to learn more. Professors could be more enthusiastic at times but class sizes were great ranging from 20-30 students.

3 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: The school does not have many connections even though they want you to succeed. If you want success, you have to get it yourself.

Health & Safety: Safety is high, security is moderate, pretty safe campus overall especially compared to other nearby universities.

Campus Housing: A very boring experience with limited options for fun. It makes it very easy to study for academics.

Greek Life: Greek life is almost non existent and I wouldn't know where to go to even pledge for a fraternity if I wanted to.

3 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: It is not a great school to get involved with multiple different activities, however the school's professors are very helpful with the academic coursework and truly want you to succeed. Everyone goes out of their way to ensure the success of the student.

3 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: Football games are alright, the stadium is not big enough for the demand and people are left out. The basketball arena could use some work as well.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I hear very few things about greek life

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I love the teachers and the close environment.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The class sizes are small and the teachers are decent. Some teachers are hard to understand or talk to outside of class and might not always be open to student reasoning.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I believe I have a great chance of finding a job after I graduate. The school also has a variety of connections with multiple other schools.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: They run out of two person rooms fast. You can get stuck with people you don't like. Lots of issues with plumbing.

2 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek life here is not actually important or well known. It is actually a campus joke.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Not many people are involved in athletics. And the athletes have access to a nicer work out room then average students.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love my small school. The only down side is sometimes the lack of space to hang out on campus.

Athletics: At CSU, school spirit is very vocal as far as athletics are concerned especially during football season. I might be a little biased since I am an Athletic Training major because the past two seasons I have worked all of the football games and practices and I loved every single minute of being there with the team and the amount of spirit of our CSU supporters never seemed to wane. Even when travelling to away games; our numbers might have dwindled due to the distance between where we were and the school, the few that were there made it known who they were there for and why they were there. Like most sports at colleges and universities, there are more students in attendance at some events than others, but the success or lack of success of a team is the shared responsibility of all Buccaneers and its shown throughout our community here at CSU.

Overall Experience: Honestly, I chose Charleston Southern University because it was the only school that I applied to that wasn't in my hometown, and attending school in my hometown wasn't an option for me if I had other offers elsewhere. So, I took a chance on coming here, and it's been an awesome but very tiring and trying 4 years of my life. It helped that I was attending CSU with my cousin but in the middle of sophomore year, she left me to go back home, and it really showed me that I'm not as dependent on my family as I thought I was.Although the Christian atmosphere wasn't the initial reason why I came here, I am really appreciative of it and our hour of chapel every other Wednesday. It allowed me to rely more on God a lot more. My experience here has shown me the strength and progression of my faith and has provided me with the pleasure of meeting some amazing people inside and outside of my program. And speaking of my program, initially, I thought that Athletic Training wasn't for me because I kind of picked it on a whim, but the things I have seen and experienced and the people I met and the wonderful places that I have been because of my major has instilled a higher sense of purpose within myself and given me more confidence in not only myself but also as a future healthcare professional. As if I was meant to be here, to make all of the great friends that I have made, and experience all of the faith tests that I went through so that I could and would have to rely on God more. Because my school is considered a small Christian (Southern Baptist) school, I think that makes it unique in itself, and because of our size, most of our rivals consider us to be underdogs but I think that our size makes us that much more humble and appreciative of the students that go here, our faculty and staff, and I am so very thankful for the community of individuals that make up this school and I am so very proud to call myself a Buccaneer. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't change a thing.

Health & Safety: I feel safe on campus. I'm a laid back person and I feel fine just like anywhere else if not safer because it's college.
